There was a big fuss on a lotus forum about a bunch of kids filming them selves trashing this lotus, jumping on the roof, taking a baseball bat to the car and then went home and put it up on myspace and bragged about it. The stupid kids didnt realise that they had filmed them selves going into the place they live, and had their faces on video, and then put it on their own profile on myspace! Im common, how stupid are these!
The big fuss was to find the guy who owned this lotus as he was not part of a forum and he never reported it to the police, so they said they cant do anything untill the owner comes foward.

Top speed... I don't know, I only pushed it back in 2005 when on the Nurburgring and got the speedo to read off the clock but that was then. Now I have a second engine and havent been on a race track so haven't tried it out.

well going by my speedo my top speed is about 52mph! either that or its about 19mph - town speed and motorway speed! I guess about 90, I have a 3.44 fd and 10's so lose a bit of top end.

they usually hide on the slip roads on the A23 on the way out of brighton. Mostly unmarked cars though, and they are pretty tricky to spot. unless oyu left brighton before 2 ish as thats when they would normally start watching the outbound traffic.

90mph, but sadly i wasnt driving because i cant drive yet,

it wasnt on the road so it is legal. we were on an abandoned air field!

Just a quickie...

How fast is your mini's max speed? I did 100mph indicated recently and the rpm was smack at 5200rpm. I know the rpm is far more accurate than the minis' speedo...

Using guesswork's little program, with all the parameters entered i.e. 165/60/12 tyres and 3.105 final drive, I get 96mph at 5000rpm and 104mph at 5500rpm. So i guess mine is pretty much a genuine 100mph mini

85mph going down a slight hill, could have got abit more but one wheel had three wheel nuts, and there were some loose ones on the rest 998 with skinny 12" minilites

just a quick question, does a 998 actually hit 8000rpm ? (in any gear) as i haven't tried it yet in case it blows the engine up if not what is usally the max rpm?

6000 would be the highest rpm i would take a 998 to, unless the bottom end has been strengthened. saying that it probably would rev to 8000 rpm but i doubt it would last long.

Im not sure of topspeed speedo cable snap last year and when it was working it was way out because im running on 13".

At a guess my 998 with stage 1 will do around the 80 to 90 mph

Anyways, this happened last thursday at about midnite on Federal Highway from Shah Alam, just before the Batu Tiga toll booth. Although I know most people love the PLUS highway I actually kinda like Federal highway I dont know why

Oh ya by the way, the speed limit there is 50mph! (and i was doin 100!)

125mph confirmed by sat nav on a track, sadly KAtie runs out of rpm, and I run out of balls at that speed, its not fun
