I was counting the pulleys as pulleys, but there is a crown wheel on the diff.

The screen wipers also have wheel boxes, but do they contain wheels???

Automatic Minis have a torque converter instead of a flywheel.

Enough pedantry for one afternoon I think :D

it is a little known fact that vw golf seats give way before mini seats when a constant up/down force is applied to the upright section of the seat, such as a child jumping on your seats or a mrs superted who has not seen her boyfriend for 8 months.

little known fact that is, you heard it here first. stronger seats than a golf. amazing!!

No the rain channel drip rails were deleted from the beginning of MKIV production in 1976. That's when the black trim was added.

I thought it was during Mk3 actually, the early Mk3s had drip rails and the later ones didn't.

Edges that run along under the roof gutter for the front section, above the doors. They carry water that gets past the gutters to the rear of the door opening.

Did you know,

That in 1959 the longbridge assembly line was 220 yds long.
There were 57 work stations on the assembly line.
Each task took 2 mins + 24 secs, making a little over 2 hours for each car. :goaway:

or

That never before had there been ten inch wheels that gave anything like an acceptable ride. Dunlop were persuaded to make them, with the harsh ride being resolved by involving Alex Moulton (of biycycle fame) into designing a rubber suspension.

or

Lord Snowden and Princess Margaret adored their Mini.

or

That the Queen was televised driving a Mini in Windsor Park

:proud:
