Also the hole was cut for the weber box.. which my friend made for me. Nice and big.

and from the front

[attachment=15232:attachment]

and from the back

[attachment=15233:attachment]

Fitted..

[attachment=15234:attachment]

From the top you can see how deep it is.. should be loads of room for a weber and filter on a 6" inlet

[attachment=15236:attachment]

painted..

[attachment=15235:attachment]

Nice

I had to replace the Hillboard (The panel under the rear seat that the rear subframe bolts too) as a couple of bolts snapped when removing the rear subframe.. also the panel was on it last legs.

Cuttin out was a mission as its very tight down there.

But i cut the the rotton floor out, inner sill and the drivers hillboard.. and was left with a big hole. :trooper:

from the back

[attachment=15240:attachment]

Outer sill getting welding on

[attachment=15241:attachment]

and then the finished floor

[attachment=15242:attachment]

same story for the other side... this was not a nice panel to fix...

Just spent tonight attempting to force the front part of my roll cage into my car.. very tight indeed :(

Front

[attachment=15294:attachment]

and

[attachment=15295:attachment]

Back

[attachment=15296:attachment]

i know there meant to be tight.. but i didn't think it would fit.. this was in the first batch of safety device cages made in Poland... :- how safe do i feel!

[attachment=15298:attachment]

I would also like to show u my new inner pot joint things.. £30 each. no more leaking grease onto my exhaust!

:D

looks a really well done project

i hope you got that healbourd exactly right or it will nock ou the rear subframe which can cause problems but yeah it all looks well done

although one thing i learnt from my cinq is hamerite does not last at all it chips of way to easy i ended up ripping it off and using stone chip paint which is alot better and doesnt chip off anywhere near as easy or 'chassis black' paint is good

good luck

wayne

looking really good mate, cant belive how much welding you have done. i look forward to seeing it when it is done, i will try and get to some smag meets with mine when its finished!

ps those doors look good, where they from mini door company? whats the fit like?

i am hoping my roof will fit! i am not sure how much of a lip to leave yet, probaly 2 inches, are you bonding yours on with sikaflex?

I can believe how much weldings been done..

i bought the doors off the same guy who sold me the roof.. i'll txt him. he works night so mite geta reply later 2nite.

They fit ok.. the bottom of the door does stick out a little but once the door locks are fitted it should be fine.. they do stratch easy.

For the roof i was going to leave a 2-3 inch lip and use sikaflex.. no one will be able to remove it.. we could start a carbon roof gang..

cool, they look like the mini door co ones, probably going to get some of those too! dont want it to look like i am copying you! :proud:

yeah a carbon roof gang would be smart i only know of 3 other minis with this done! they are going to stand out loads! sounds like we are going the same route on fitting the roof, the guy that sold me the sikaflex said it will set solid! i also have 6 countersink washers and stainless bolts to go at the top of each of the pillars but i am not sure weather to use these or not!
