Update: checked the dash speedo connector and that seems fine, managed to pop the flipping rubber grommet out while I was at it

The speedo cable has been tested and works fine - it slipped off the back of the speedo clock - had the dash out and it's given me the opportunity of replacing the Volts clock bulb at last.
Typically curious following the parasitic earth problem I decided to wire the fog lights back in. All worked fine.. until the CD Player, Indicators, Interior light and Alarm LED stopped working - all pointing to Fuse C4 / C6 and Fusible link 1. I think my faffing round with the earth point annoyed it.
Going to change that out again tonight and clean up the front wheels as they're off the car. Need to buy some Flash Lemon as well.

So no issues with the diff or speedo drive then? Just the cable at clocks end? That's a relief!

The interior light loom was pressing against the bulkhead from behind squashed by the door stay. Enough squashing ensured a nice short. SirD got a full set of brand new Maxi Fuses and a total check over of all the blade fuses out of it.
Oh...and another dash removal.

Rear window cappings have come back today as well, matching the depth and texture of the dash. Far better than the sun and water damaged look I sent them off with. Amazing what a good re-lacquer can do.
