there was a series in the 80's called Driving Ambition about a woman that has her mini made into a racing car.

would love to find a copy of it

was a post a while ago about it

I have "Driving Ambition" on VHS tape recorded it when it was first shown because of the Mini, I think the whole series is 6 or maybe 8, hour long episodes. I keep meaning to transfer it onto dvd. To be honest the story was a bit rubbish but the Mini bits are good if a little far fetched, converting a house wifes basic old Mini into a space frame special saloon racing Mini. It was actually owned, built and driven by Peter Baldwin who is now a pensioner but still racing and winning in Mini Miglias.

Not that it really counts.. But.. They often use them on Scrapheap Challenge.. Mainly for throwing through the air.. Or rescuing from lakes! But there was the group who made Milo the mini limo! (the scrappy races show)

There's a virtually unheard of short film called 'Vive Le Sport' which was made for Dunlop Tyres in 1969 and it features two groovy Mini-Skirt clad gals who terrorise Europe in their MKII Mini Cooper S. So it's kind of like Thelma & Louise on acid, although they didn't die at the end and it was fun.

Cross-Plot was a late 1960's movie starring Roger Moore and he makes a getaway in a standard MKI Mini and yes it gets thrown off a cliff at the end.

Cliff Richard starred in a film called 'Take Me High' back in 1973 and he knocked about in a slightly modified/customised black Mini Clubman with 'TIM' registration plates. Tim was his characters name and not the actual Mini. No it doesn't get thrown off a cliff, but Cliff drove it a fair bit. Sorry the pun was impossible to ignore.

Run Chrissie Run was a 1980's Aussie film starring a girl who used to be in Neighbours and she and her mother make a getaway in a blue Mini Clubman that then gets thrown off a cliff and into a large pond or billabong?

'Take The Money And Run' was an early Woody Allen comedy and in one bizarre sequence Woody Allen is seen driving a white MKII Cooper S around a house whilst trying to run down and kill the wealthy house owner.

Meera Syal's movie "Anita and Me" features an old MKI/II. And in at least 1 episode of the series "Bones", one of the doctors (the conspiracy nut) is driving David Boreanaz (the FBI agent) around in a late model (read: not BMW) Mini. Also a similar late model Mini is in the remake of the Italian Job, driven by Bridger's daughter...

[added after post] Oops, someone else thought of the new I-Job sighting...

The Carry On film was Carry on Camping it was full of hippies at the 'Glastonbury' bit near the end of the film.

I remember an 80's sitcom where one of the main characters had a wreck of a Mini that her boyfriend did up. Was it the one with Linda Bellingham?

Not sure if Ricky Butcher had one in East Enders as well?
