No worries tomf - I made the last one out of woven matt- it is *melons*ing light and yet I stood on it and it didn't break!

I hope Andy doesn't mind me using his pictures for his Minus but this is how he got around the problem
Two £3.99 roasting tins welded together and sunk into the bonnet,

Front edge where the bonnet curve's down is shorter on a minus to compensate for where the body has been lowered. Believe it was done this way to allow a standard grille to be used.
Minisprint on here used to supply new bonnet's (got mine from him) so might be worth seeing if he's got any left. You could always cut it and make your own bulge.

still got some bonnets!

I'm not getting the engine back for 2 weeks! which has less than amused me. so I've started doing everything else, in a bid to get it finished in a month! ha!

my mate came up and started putting the carpets in last night, still got a fair bit to do, but should all be done on monday, and i got the back subframe fitted, complete with brand new poly bushes, adjustable spax dampers, hilo's etc, etc. hopefully won't be back in there for a while!

I wasn't planning on having an SVA test or anything, im just wanting it through an MOT and on the road! for some reason one of the wheels was sticking out a fair bit more than the other, trying to work it out for a couple days, finally discovered the rough metal edge next to the rubber bush was infact an old washer, therefore i had 2 washers on one side!

so its all going well, my mate fitted carpet to the roof, it looks good i think, i'll get a picture up soon, it was a bit dark before! hes got the day off so finishing all the little bits off on friday, and hopefully getting the engine back, finally by the end of the week!

I finally got the engine back last friday, its now in the frame, and ready to put the car ontop of it, I'll try and get some photo's up asap i've been really busy though,

in the mean time, im after some advice!

I'm using an R1 petrol tank, which i have mounted in the boot. apart from the main pipe coming out the bottom, there is also an overflow pipe, and a breather pipe, I have no idea what I should do with these?! can anyone help?

thanks

Nick

How come you decided to use the R1 tank and not the original tank but with the R1 pump?

The R1 tank is only around 18 liters aint it?

i wanted 2 keep everything r1 as possible, plus at the time I had an r1 tank, and didn't have a mini one! so seemed to be in my favour! yes it's only 18 litres, might be a few trips to the petrol station!!

Its a shame you couldn't pick up a tank, yeah will mean a few more trips to the gas station.

i wanted 2 keep everything r1 as possible

Eh? >_< You do realise what your doing with this project right? You might aswell just keep two wheels and swap the steering wheel for a nice renthal bar, relocate the gearshift sideways to be operated by your foot oh and sit on the roof! then it'll be mostly R1!

Only joshing :mrcool:

Loving the thread by the way!

have a look at what I did today though................ >_<
