We were talking about this last night down the pub. Pubs round here Id you on the door then quite often at the bar too.

My friend said she was so upset because she got Id'd to buy a lottery ticket (where you have to be 16) she is 30 this year!!! lol!!

My brother is 25 and came down south again last year and got Id'd for buying a bottle of wine. He didnt have any Id on him except his police warrant card :P

Take it as a compliment!!

lol my flatmate got ID'd in a shop for buying spray paint.. fair dos, you gotta be over 16.. he's in 19.. he then got ID'd by the same person.. in the same transaction... for a stanley knife.. which you have to be over 18 to buy... he showed her his driving license that said he was 19 yet she was adament that he was under 18 and couldn't buy the knife.. we stood and counted on our fingers with her that infact he WAS 19.. she sold it to him in the end.. but wasn't happy about it because she still thought he was under 18. How dumb can you get.

Someone at the Co-op once asked me for Id for buying white wine vinegar. They realised in the end! Also... they won't let you buy alcohol in school uniform! I was in a suit (with a 6th form tie), had I.d but still no alcohol :)

Most people have to i.d whether what age you are, when i worked in sainsburys i had to i.d everyone and couple times i didn't because it was so obvious they were old enough but my manager had a right go at me. It's just because the person on till (me) can get fined.

I'm 25 soon and I get ID'd all the time for lottery tickets, in the pub at the offy. Gets a bit boring after a while.
The funniest was when I nipped to the garage once and someone at work asked me to get them some ciggies, so I filled up and asked for a pack of whatever and got asked for ID :)

I only really started getting ID'd once I'd turned 18. I think it was because I began going to normal pubs, as opposed to the ones I knew would serve me.
There is nothing more annoying than getting checked when you actually are 18 but don't have your ID, even though you have many other cards stating your age, they only accept driving license or passport. Eurgh

I have just turned 16 and have done a few tests with trading standards and have only ever had one sale and that was for fire works :S lol, apart from that one time i always got asked for ID. But the funny thing is that on a friday or saturday night i can go in the local and can buy alchol, it all depends on the person who serves you lol. Some places just dont seem to care as long as you pretend to show them ID so the camera can see (they dont have sound) they let you buy it, as long as you dont tell the pigs where u got it :) . I have never been asked for ID for buying petrol though, probally because it does almost 90 mpg so im hardly ever there :P lol.

At home I get ID'd in town centre going in places, at uni only really get ID'd in the evenings, not so much during the day, mainly because everyone gets ID'd. It doesn't really bother me though, I mean it takes 10 seconds to get your driving license/passport out and have it checked, I don't see why so many people get *Drunk or yellow human water* off with it. My mate works in Sainsburys though, and apparently has been told Red Bull is age-restricted in there and he has to ID people :techsupport:

It's a bit of a weird one for me sometimes i can go out and not get ID'ed at all but other times with the same people i get ID'ed i dont mind as i know they are just doing there jobs.....
What annoyed me most of all though was on the night of my 18th i went out into town and the bouncers wouldnt let me into the club as they said i was underage even though i had turned 18 that day lol.
