Just before Christmas i bought myself a car to use as a daily and keep the mini as a project rather than trying to get that done as a daily.
Bought it off a mate for the sum of £300 after just doing a bit of work on the brakes to get it though a MOT, passed with flying colours.
My 1st thoughts were to use it just as a daily and for work.. i then stumbled across this site... clubpolo

After looking at some of the other MK3's on there i got a bit excited, and this seems to have turned into a project until i pass my driving test. Heres a few pics:

I didn't bother touching it until early this year, i then bought some new discs and pads (MOT advisory). Whilst i was there i thought well.. these calipers could do with a lick of paint, then took them off and split a brake line.. hmm braided brake lines. I'm still on the hunt for some braided lines but no1 has them in stock :P

After taking those parts off the car now looks like this...

What do you all think?

Nice motor! CP is an awesome site, I'm minis84 over there, some really knowledgable folk and its great to lust after some of the G's on there!!

I did have (well, still have!) a nice metallic black GT, but a couple of weeks back it got driven into by a bloke in a Jag XJS, so I've bought a mint 1992 Indian Red CL to re-shell everything in to!

Nice to see there's another Clubman and Mk3 fan on TMF!! :P

Oh yeah, just noticed you're from Wolves too! I spent 8 years of my life there, lived in Codsall - whereabouts are you from?

Yup, 2 projects lol.. and i wonder why I'm always skint :o

Think I've seen you about on CP Purple Tom. And I'm in Finchfield (near Compton/Tetenhall/Merryhill)
When i 1st bought it i thought it was rather ugly and had no intension of spending dosh on it.. and now its kinda taken over lol. Will be put before the clubby atm as i want it done and on the road for when i pass my test, which hopefully wont be too long :P

Awesome, yeah I know Finchfield, just down the road from Castlecroft! My mum's husbands parents live there :P

Here's a link to the thread of my old GT on CP

And I know what you mean about initially thinking they're ugly! I bought my first Polo (mk3 1043cc CL square!) back in 2004 as a daily while I restored my Clubby, and now I'm on my 5th! Great little cars and much more practical than a Mini for daily driving, it means I can have fun with the Mini at weekends and use the Polo during the week - all good!

Are you having lessons now then?

:o gutted about the crash
Was a nice GT, but that new CL is looking mint :o
And thats exactly my plan, but chances are i wont have the polo by the time the mini is on the road. I'll probably have my Audi RS4 by then ^_^ :P
Castlecroft, went to Smestow there. Best times of my life to be honest in that school :)

And yes Bungle, theres no need to state the obvious :P. Went to Dubfreeze on Sunday, some of the vans :genius:
Not too keen on beetle's anymore (even though i wanted one before i got a mini) if id get anything atm it would probably be a crew cab pickup (whatever they are called) :P

EDIT- Yes Tom, I'm having lessons atm. been having them for a while now, passed my theory on Valentines day.. well chuffed :P

Not a right lot!

The Genesis is a ltd edition Polo, and came with a Genesis-specific interior, a tachometer and the same steering wheel as fitted to the GT and G40. They had the same equipment as the CL models (i.e interior adjustable mirrors, 12v socket, height adjustable drivers seat).

They were available with 1043cc and 1272cc SPi engines.

Thats about it!

It was when VW went through a phase in early 90's of making a lot of their limited editions to do with bands of the era. Genesis was one amongst many!

Genesis also had the metal sliding sunroof, split folding rear seats, i was also told that the 5 speed gearbox was limited edition? cant see why because they all have it lol.

Went shopping today, finaly got hold of my brake lines
Got some discs, pads and fresh fluid for it a few weeks back too..
Posted Image

Also popped into Halfords and splashed my cash on some fog lights, these fit strait into the original spaces for fog lights (apparently), my badges now they've been sprayed Matte black :teehee::
Posted Image

Going out to the shed now to wire brush the calipers :dontgetit:, will get pictures if i can be bothered.

Just need to bleed the buggers now

Managed to find a tow bar for it as well, so I'll be able to pull a small trailer - excellent for collecting bits for the clubby :P
