time for an update!!
Ok i finaly got fed up with either waiting for welders or getting stupid quote (+ £1000) so i decided to admit defeat with this shell and get rid of it and source a rust free one (and i mean it this time :( ). so fleabay was called upon and this is the result. Totaly bare shell with all welding already been carried out to a high standard. It cost £850 including fuel to get it home so i think it was a bit of a bargain.

The next stage made me think twice but i now had to butcher a 100% perfect shell to make room for the honda lump and manifold, this included inner wing and bulk head mods.
Once cut the bulkhead had the new box created from my erlier template welded into place.

And then painted

I am not entirely happy with the box and the welding the box had to be bent to match the shape of the bulkhed but the inlet is going to fill this so im not to bothered. Another coat of paint will be coming very soon.

I then set about completely painting and undersealing the bottom of the car. i left the extremes of the sills bare from underseal as i wanted it to look nice when finished.

I then set about assembaling the rear subframe assembaly. Everything apart from the recon radius arms and brake back plates is brand new. Nice to actually be putting things back together lol. This was then fitted back on the car with the alloy rear drums.

The brand new steering rack and longer track rod ends were fitted to the car.

Next the engine is going in for the final time and a steering column put in so i have a roling shell. That would have been happening now but the weather is doggy doo. But thats been my progress since my last update. should be coming along alot faster soon.

swwwwweeeeet the only word to describe it lol

time for another update >_<

right the mini now actually looks like a car as the engine and subframe has been fitted which now means its on four wheels.
the steering rack was modified by griding off a safe amount and using countersunk M 8 bolts to hold the plate on the back of the gear housing. This needed to be done in order to clear the diff housing on the honda lump.

So here she is with it all in its final resting place.

I have also been test fitting all the other bits and bobs such as the radiator and servo, there is quite alot of rom under there but it is still going to be tight.

I am picking up the injection tank tomorow and i have a few things on order that i need before i can carry on with the project. But im happy with progress.
Next major thing is to get the car sprayed and to sort out the plumbing for the engine.

Project looks tip top!

Keep up the good work Mat!

Honda conversions are mental!

JohnnyP took me for a blast in his Clubby Estate V-Tec conversion and loved it!

Good luck!

right another update, i have just been putting the body in primer and lots of prep work which is both boring and a lengthy process.
Between coats i have been up to other little jobs, i have been making an alternator bracket (albeit unsuccesfull  ) and also i have scraped the idea of the other dash as the fit was dog poo. so i made my own, it consists of a cut down standard dash rail some marine ply, fibreglass and lots of patients lol.
Here is the nearly finished pruduct.

also made my own switch panel with new aly buttons.

both aren't 100% finished yet but they are coming along nicely.
Once the car has been fully painted i will get more picys up but a primered car is a waste of bandwidth lol
