Cheers Dad :D.

I know I'll talk to you when I get home, but can we do those jobs this weekend? Sunday morning perhaps?

Okay well a bit of an update, I placed an order on the 5th for a Pioneer headunit and 2 pioneer 4" speakers to fit in my dashboard, I brought that dash a few months ago & was planning to buy a stereo system with the same months wages but other things came up, so I can't wait for these to come and get then installed.

I also ordered some black acoustic carpet so I can finish making my boot kit, all the mdf is cut I've just gotta cover it in the carpet & finish it off.

Still got to get around to fitting my new thermostat.

& of course the good news is that my girlfriend is really hoping to get a mini when she passes her test :-.

CHRISTMAS CAME EARLY :proud:.

Just had this box delivered from DPD,

Gotta get across to Motorworld in my free day next week to see if they can install it, might have a go with my Dad as I know my mini had a 'sound system' installed at one stage as there are still wires everywhere, although I think I'd rather get it done by someone who does it on a daily basis & the bloke Paul owns a mini so that's even better.

Another months wages blown so I've gotta somehow survive until next month  but well worth it I think.

Ordered some speaker carpet as well so that means I can finish my boot kit!

Guess after this I should start saving for my insurance next year & university fees if I decide to go.

Well Dads busy for the next 3 weeks and I can't wait that long.. so I'll do it myself, can't be that hard once I've got the wires figured out.

Posted Image

They're the existing wires.

2 speakers, earth, aerial, something & some other somethings.

First of all I've gotta fit the headunit & make a support for that & then widen the holes in the dashboard to take the speakers.

I hope you have a Multimeter or can borrow one, you're going to need one in order to find a switched live and a permanent live, the rest is easy.

Dad said he can spare a few hours now and again so we can get it sorted, I've got the job of making sure everything fits, the air vent holes need some cutting to allow the speakers to sit in nice and tight & a bracket is needed to hold the headunit.

I'm back to college this Friday & then I'll be there 4 days a week, 5th day will probably be spent either at home or at college working.. but if I put the extra hours in every night I can probably free up that free day so I can work on my mini, then I work Friday night & Saturday, in between that I've gotta see my girlfriend & friends so it's looking pretty hectic.

I've got an amazing £6.25 in my bank account which has gotta last me until the next payday in about just under 4 weeks time .

But I've got my sound system sorted so it's focusing on college work now and saving up money for everything else in life.

Getting *Drunk or yellow human water* off now.. I'm fed up with running into problems, she runs fine and I don't have a problem with that but my bodywork.. I took the off-side wheel off to replace it with a spare because the tread is running illegal, simple job. But whilst I'm at that I decided to have a poke around with a screwdriver, knocked in a rust hole bigger than a small wrench, the skuttle support panel has gone too with a gaping hole there.

Every single *banana picking* panel on my mini has been touched by rust, and I feel like I've hit a wall.

Contemplating buying a cheap project and stripping that back to basics, then I can start from there. I'd then secure that shell, replace anything that needed replacing, rust proof everything as much as I can, stone chip the arches, stone chip the underside and then transfer everything from my current mini to the project one, but cleaning & replacing things as I go.

I can't work on my current mini because that's a daily drive, I rely on it. I've just gotta get it though it's next MOT in February which is looking impossible at the minute, so it could be a case of welding plates over everything and just crossing my fingers..

Gotta go out and finish this job but I have no motivation.

Should be getting a fair bit of money, well a fair bit for my standards anyway within the next month, 500 odd, I owe 150 to a mate and then I need to spend another 100 on a new set of tyres for the front, I'll then put aside 200 and keep adding to that and at the same time keep my eye out for a project.

Finished up my jobs for tonight anyway.

Tyre with no tread, explains why I thought the steering was going. Pulling away from Junctions I would've been just sliding on the wet & greasy road, so the spare is on for now which has good tread, that'll tie me over until I get paid again and I can afford to replace both the front tyres, the rears were only replaced a few months ago.

Mounted up the 2 speakers ready to be wired up (soon I hope), left hand side took some adjusting so it didn't rub on the glovebox door.

Oh and the rust on the offside wheel arch..

Yeah but I wouldn't mind that, because it gives me a base to start on.

I rely on my current mini because of work, college, seeing friends & my girl.

I've got a year left of college and then I'll hopefully be out working full time as something to do with graphic design, so I'd be raking in about a grand a month which would be enough to get me started on getting it sprayed and such, so for the next year I would be slowly welding panels and getting everything to the stage where I could send it off for spraying.

So there isn't any rush because I know until I start working full time I can't afford a spray job.

That came out a bit messed up but I hope you understand ;D.

Got some more overtime in this morning, trying to do anything at the minute to rake in some extra money.

I should be getting my own garage when the extension is done within a few months, hopefully by then I've got the money for a project and I've found something suitable, I'd love a van or a pick up, something a little different.

How is your search for a mini going anyway mate, any luck?
