Got some more overtime in this morning, trying to do anything at the minute to rake in some extra money.
I should be getting my own garage when the extension is done within a few months, hopefully by then I've got the money for a project and I've found something suitable, I'd love a van or a pick up, something a little different.
How is your search for a mini going anyway mate, any luck?
Oh and because my Dad brought up the fact it isn't actually mine yet I'll take this back

I've just gotta prove I won't be completely distracted by the project, I've got a year left of college and within the first few days I'm off to a cracking start, so I've gotta keep it up and keep the money flowing in.
Got a feeling things are gonna turn out alright.

But on a more pressing note my MOT is coming up

I'll patch up any rust holes and do all the usual checks for my MOT, I know I'm going to fail so I'll need to save up some money to sort the problems.
But once I finally do pass I'll start compiling panels for the front end, I've estimated a cost of around £600 for the whole thing, panels, grills, headlamps, the lot.
I'm hoping to convert the front to MK1, which is easy with the fibreglass front end but the doors & hinges are going to be completely changed, so external hinges & I'll track down some MK1 doors with sliding glass.
Can't wait to get started.
The Clubby Estate project I wanted will have to wait, but I still want to do it one day.

What've you budgeted for there?
Seems expensive to me.

MK1 grille and surround is £120, I'd need two MK1 doors which don't come cheap either, then the panels, a set of brace bars, American style hinges for the front etc..

Sorry about that, I was scared I'd overlooked something really expensive on my own project

Ahh right, you're factoring doors aswell and you're going for those fancy hinges.
Sorry about that, I was scared I'd overlooked something really expensive on my own project.
Haha no don't worry, I'll have to make sure I get in some extra overtime at Tesco and work my hardest for some extra money.
You should just make the american hinges yourself bud, i'm sure i've seen on here somewhere where a guy has made them himself and they looked a lot sturdier.
I would but I haven't got the machines! There is a bloke on here who is selling me a set he's made for £40 so that isn't too bad.
