Sounds like it could be your alternator, but I know you Luke, you will get it sorted.

Cheers

Sorted :) just got back inside, it's charged up and back in place, well it's sorted for now anyway I'll see how long it lasts.

Whilst I was out I painted the rocker cover, coil bracket & radiator cap.

& Dan that noise was an exhaust bracket, I'll get it up on the ramps soon and tighten it up.

Well, apologies for no updates but I wasn't really doing anything major in the first place, just tinkering here and there. So my reason for no updates? no money :P I can't seem to grasp the concept of saving, as soon as I get money it's gone again.

So.. the summer holiday? apart from working, seeing friends & girlfriend and a couple of holidays, I'll be doing more tinkering, my game plan is to work as much overtime I can at Tesco and earn as much money as possible, then I can see how much I've saved and see what I can do with it.

I am going ahead with the fibreglass frontflip conversion, so at the minute I'm sourcing bits. I've got a bloke whose maybe selling me a grille which I can clean up and repaint if needed which gives me something to do, I need some new headlamps anyway so I'll buy some of those new.. and I still need some front indicators.. any sellers?

Of course I need to sort the skuttle & other surrounding panels, but this might have to wait until after I do the frontflip, although I'd much rather do it at the same time as it would make sense, then I'd start working my way back.. floorpans, door sills, doors etc..

& seeing as I won't be putting a bumper on the front I will be debumpering the rear so it looks even.

I just started spilling my thoughts out so excuse me :P.

Suppose I should go and charge my battery again & test the alternator.

I've been turning things over in my head & I've decided I want to go with an orignal but slightly modded look, inspired by the Cars & Coffee meet.

6 x 10"s, chrome arch strip etc.. turning heads for the right reasons, not loud exhausts & big wheels, don't get me wrong I like that, but I'd much rather go for a subtle yet attractive to all audiences sort of look.

Anyway, that's waaay down the pipeline.. tomorrow I will take out the alternator and check the brushes & if Dads got some MDF in the garage make a rear speaker board for when I get my sound system installed.

Picking up the MDF soon, It's cut to size but will need some adapting, that's for the boot kit & also a speaker board to fit under the rear seats.

Had a play around with the alternator today, decided I'll struggle on and deal with the odd situation where I need a jump from someone elses car, but when my next wages come through I will buy a new alternator (& maybe battery) which will resolve the problem.

Got her front wheels up on the ramp at the minute, going back out to find what is causing a rattle, I'm guessing it's the rubber mountings on the exhaust so I'll track that down.

Started cutting out the MDF today but it started raining, seeing as I had nothing else to do I devised a plan! so I reversed b's back end into the garage, rather carefully I might add (just in case my Dad is reading ) and continued cutting things up and trying to get them to fit.

I've got a few bits sorted, base & the back & one side but it's all getting rather frustrating.. and then I thought to myself I haven't covered them yet so there really isn't any point, I need to acquire some speaker carpet first before finalising all the diameters, so I came in to upload these pictures whilst my chicken pie & chips are cooking in the oven.

:)

Honestly fed up now.. todays work was pretty much wasted because Dad wasn't happy with what I'd done (he did point me in the right direction & make a few things obvious, so thanks for that) but things aren't going how I planned, I'm incredibly low on money.. and things need fixing which requires of course, money.

Ooh now I understand what you are on about  Dunlop D1s! I would easily save for a pair if they were 6 inches wide!

Payday today, but it's all going out again because I owe quite a considerable amount of money to Dad :).

I'm got to somehow get through the next month with it continuously dying because I can't afford the repairs (whatever they might be, new battery/alternator perhaps) plus I've got 2 holidays to go on.. so I'm really really stressed & angry with myself for letting things get out of hand.

I suppose I can look forward to next payday & knowing I've got that lump sum to play with.

Made up your mind about yours yet? I think you should hang on in there mate and sort things out, would be a shame to see a mini go from the local area!
