Just bought a clubby front from them

Their website wasn't working properly so I had to phone them to order, very helpful and knocked some money off the postage  (It was still £50!!)

Just phoned them up to ask if they are having a stand at MITP but they haven't had a trade stand since 1999! although he did say if it was posted commercially then postage is only £30! so I'll have it posted to my Dads work hopefully which will save me plenty of money .

Why are they rubbish? There's always someone who seems to put any company down.

Agreed tomf, some of their fronts are good, but others arent, its very hit and miss. My mate that is doing a vtec conversion has fitted one of their clubby fronts. It took me 3.5hrs to fit my front and it took him about 8 and he is much more mechanically experienced than me, it was was just down to the fact that he had to do a lot of modification to the mould for it to fit flush. Also his front wings are practically 90 degrees, there is no curve! The custom minis front is a mould made from a genuine front using heritage panels. You can tell as I did because the spot welds are still visible in the gp mould.

Cheers for the above advice lads! payday is nearing.

I had a dream about my mini last night.. I think I actually dreamt about Tomf mini but it was with the flip front I'm after, MK1 and such, weirdest dream :D.

Doing a few small jobs this morning before my girlfriend comes around.

+ Refitting the dashboard.

It wasn't sitting right at all and was really annoying me, so I took off the piping around the edge which I beleived was causing it to sit wrong and then pushed the dashboard in again and it seemed to sit okay but I could see the brown MDF so I masked off the dashboard and painted it with some black paint which will be a little less obvious and more tidier, so that's drying now, although it may be that the gauges are causing it so sit wrongly so I may have to sand down the white plastic which is pushing against the top rail, I'll see how it goes when I fit it later.

+ Cleaning pigeon poo off my bonnet and bumper :).

That is industrial pidgeon sabotage there! Unlucky chap.

Did you try reading your voltage with the electrics on and the car running? Fingers crossed for your altenator being good ;).

If you find your alternator is dead I have a spare one taken off my old engine you can have at cost of postage if you like! (Or you can collect if you are close enough)

Spending the morning with Dad on her.

+ Replacing the positive battery terminal with a new one ordered from Minispares, the current one had to be lined with tin foil because it wasn't tight enough.

+ Tightening the fan belt, I believe this could be the problem.. If it's slipping it isn't charging the alternator & it isn't cooling the engine enough, which is why on a few odd occasions the temperature rises above 1/2 on the dial.

+ Finding the leak and sealing it on the radiator, could be the bottom hose as the top was patched up.

If I had money I'd replace the radiator but it'll be a temporary fix until I do.
