When we saw them, you couldn't even distinguish between each guitar and the bass! It was that bad!

Firewind on the other hand... they supported them at the gig, and they were awesome. Was stood speaking to the guitarist for ages, lol.

2 against 1 thats hardly fair!!

Theres go to be some new music fans out there to back me up!!

Im with you on this one, except for your apparent dislike of The Hoosiers and The Feeling.

IMHO, the majority of metal is not music but some fool screaming so loudly into a mic that the words become impossible to identify.

Hip-hop/R&B is also generally rubbish (there is the odd song I like) - however I do not like any of the artists. They are a bunch of pretentious tw8ts.

I also have a strong dislike of pop music.

Rock and Indie are the way forward. I personally think that some of the 80s stuff is the best - Def Leppard are fantastic, and Thin Lizzy happen to have a fair few good songs. You cannot forget Queen of course. Oasis, Linkin Park, Sum 41, Puddle of Mudd for rock and then Travis, Snow Patrol, Razorlight, Pigeon Detectives, etc for Indie stuff. Oh and Fall Out Boy are awesome - despite being classed as 'Emo' - whatever the F that means.

I also have a 60s album in my collection which I really like (minus the CIlla Black song).

again its all personal preference. but im not going over all that again.

what i will say tho is you say every one in hiphop/RnB is a pretentious tw8t, have you never seen and read interviews with a majority of rock and indie 'stars'. everyday theres another one (and they literally do spring up everyday now) who claims they are the best guitarist or song writer ever to exist, when its all *man danglies*. usually theyve just had one number one or something, and yet they still claim to be better than all the legendary bands who have shaped music and culture now, and created huge movements in their time. bands like pink floyd and the stones and others from that era.

Allow me to educate you on Emo.

In fact, I won't bother.

Wikipedia will do that for you ;)

CLICK

In a nutshell it is "emotional" music (hence EMO) - basically consists of teenage/early 20's "boys" singing/whining about how bad their middle class "everything provided" lives are. Typically people listening to "emo" music are teenagers, you don't get many people over the page of 19 listening to emo music, because by then, they grow out of that "trend". Hence why 99.9% of the Emo bands that are in the charts/newspapers in 2008 won't be around in 2018 or 2028. I like to think most of the bands I listen to aren't part of a "trend", they play decent, talented music, which is why most of them have been around decades.

P.S. Indie/rock isn't the way forwards, it's just what's trendy at the moment, just as Brit-pop was in the 90's. I don't mind listening to it though, I just can't stand people who stylise themselves on the bands/music they listen to!

Indie has been around for years! and always will be my son.

Past Indie bands; The Stone Roses, Joy Division, The Charlatans, Happy Mondays.

Nowadays you get bands impersonating these classic legendary bands, but you normally don't see any succeeding for a big amount of time, however there music is bloody good, I'm talking; Babyshambles, Boy Kill Boy, Radiohead, Modest Mouse and so many more.

no no no! what are you talking about 'my son'

radiohead are in no way and never have been in any way indie! i dont know what you could call them, theyre not really anythying but radiohead because they are so distinctive. theyve basically created their own genre. they are amazing and certainly not indie!

and a lot of what youve listed there as indie is a bit of a mix. dont really know what to call babyshambles either but theyre not indie. they dont sound anything like what is now called indie like scouting for girls. if you listen to the 2 they are completely different. maybe we should be calling bands like scouting for girls pop indie or something but they still cant write lyrics for poo!

Define Indie.

thats what i was saying, there is no comparison. babyshambles make good music, scouting for girls dont! but scouting for girls is still in the genre 'indie'. i would never say babyshambles was indie but as long as your not putting the two in the same genre in your mind then thats fine. the arguement that has been going on has been involving the 'scouting for girls indie' not the indie youre talking about. just a case of crossed wires i think :D
