Oh god no! Scouting For Girls aren't Indie, I'd say they're Pop?

The Smiths are Indie, right?

The Cranberries, Radiohead, The Killers, Bloc Party, The Stone Roses, Blur, Suede, Oasis, The Libertines, The Organ, Brand New, The Verve, Belle and Sebastian and Doves.

All of those bands have been influenced by The Smiths, and all of those bands are very good bands! Scouting For Girls I'd say are in a whole different genre of Indie, I'd agree they've got a slight influence of Indie, but they've been mixed with the modern day music genres and because they've tried to be Indie when the whole Indie era has been and gone, any Indie bands are now were formed in the past and because they managed to succeed they are still doing well, but nowadays any band who comes along and claims they are Indie really aren't, hence Scouting For Girls.

I'd say those classic songs have a place and a time, but I wouldn't walk down the street listening to Tina Turner, Queen, Bon Jovi or Abba.
