infact...other day i bought a CD which had just been release...i know...shocking who would have guessed people with tallent still exist??

Haha! Well, Maiden still exist after over 30 years... as do other DECENT bands like Megadeth and Heaven & Hell (Black Sabbath, basically) of course I'm just talking metal.. there's plenty of decent talented bands in other genres that are still going too.

mini93 i love your anger im the same. when something gets to you boy does it get to you, then yoyu have to spend 15 minutes just cooling down. but its funny for every one else to listen

and now youve made me in a good mood id say the whole arguement is pointless as its so subjective (first time ive EVER said that rather than joining in) one person like one thing another likes another thing. whos to say ones good and the others bad. unless its 50 cents of course, because hes just *******!

personally i HATE 99% of indie because its repetitive talentless poo (in my eyes) and i hate 99% of metal, id say even more than i hate indie because (in my eyes) its just one guy hitting a guitar uncontrollably making some noise, another guy hitting a bass and doing much the same, another guy hitting a few drums and doing...much the same, and another guy screaming nothing coherent into a mic doing......much the same. so i think its all complete C**p.

but then youll probably say my taste in music is ******* and talentless. i like trance, hardcore, garage, rock, hip hop and lots of other things. but hey thats just what i like, doesnt make it good, doesnt make it bad, just makes it my taste in music.

so now im going to chuckle

I don't think you can "hate" a music without listening to it properly.. I mean people generalise "metal" as screamy, violent "C**p" when really it isn't.. these guys more or less invented metal and still inspire 99% of new "metal" bands:

The 'commercial' side of metal is mainly crappy emo bands such as MCR and other emo-y type bands which aren't metal at all.

i agree. like annoying little kiddies at the back of the bus playing their music out loud off there phones. thank god ive escaped that, rather pay £10 per journey in my mini than 50p per journey on a bus!

i used to listen to alot of metal, sabbath, maiden, etc etc etc. i still think theyre good bands, just not my taste anymore. so i take back part of what i said, or at least alter it slightly theres still some metal, whatever you may call it, that is very thrashy and screamy and doesnt have too much point to it. i also hate the personalaties alot of rock/metal stars have created for themselves, such as gene symonds, and all the make up he wears and hes im great and can bag any woman attitude. but that happens in all genres so i just dont like those particular people. they can still make good music tho

I can't stand screamy metal either, then again I do listen to a couple of bands that would be classed as "screamy" such as Children of Bodom (cant wait to see them at Wacken this year...) but they have keyboards and stuff so it's quite entertaining to listen to them. And they're awesome & original at what they do!

I used to think Dragonforce were good until I saw them live.

If you want some proper decent Power Metal listen to Firewind. Awesome
