I bet there isn't a Mini driver who doesn't enjoy embarrassing the odd 'fast' car every now and then. You do run the risk of looking a bit of a plonker if you try too hard though, without making the obvious comments about running in to the law, if nothing more solid. There are also lots of Mini fans out there who have to drive other vehicles sometimes, so before you cut us up, bear in mind we might just be admiring your pride 'n joy 'n not spoiling for a fight.

That cloud of rubber probably cost him as much as your tyres cost you though :P

I also had a run in with a playful Ferrari driver, in my 998! I swear blind I had him on the roundabout, after he'd buried me on the 2 lane straight leading in to it, he had the inside but drifted out as we were side by side, nearly sending me in to the middle of the adjacent parkland.

I'm not having a pop as such. I think Ethel summed it up quite nicely as always :D

I had a good laugh agaisnt a escort cosworth a month or two back, i was dropping off the bypass in the outside lane and i saw him in my rear view mirror so i dropped it down to 2nd cog and i pelted it round the roundabout and floored it off down the bypass after leaving him. he then caught up pulled along side me and smiled at me and then left me behind in a cloud of smoke and sounds of dump valve haha was only in my 998 :D

I had real fun once winding up an old saphire cosworth in my 998. All the way out of Leicester I'd pull up next to him at lights, blip the throttle a few times and watch him go. Fell for it every time. :D I also had a good laugh with a Z4 on a bypass near me - got round it on the first roundabout, and being a 998 it came straight round me afterwards - but the look on her face was priceless as I sailed past her on the next roundabout :P

Had a great run recently on some twisty roads with a "modern" Cooper Works Ltd GP thingy. He was genuinely shocked that I could hang on to him.

My daughter seemed unimpressed by my expaination that the difference between a dangerous slide and drifting was the ability to "get it back" :D

I love chasing big motorbikes down twisty lanes, I've passed a few on bends much to their disgust, they usually come by again on the back wheel when the road straightens out but you're up behind 'em again at the next twisty bit :D

It's hilarious that people actually WANT to race an old Mini... I mean come on, where's their ambition? It's pretty obvious a standard modern car such as a corsa or clio will beat a standard old mini.

Saying that, mine's a 1275 stage one, badge and styled as an old 850, it's quite entertaining at times :P especially in the right-hand lane on motorways :( until one of the tyres goes flat that is (like happened a few weeks ago :D )...
