well having spent time/money.effort getting my mini sorted and the way i want it,do i really want to break the engine racing it everywhere, and smash whats left of the car into a ditch, worse a car containing a family, keep the racing at castle coombe or somewhere else more supervised, and leave the public roads for what they are designed for, getting from a to b as safely as possible

I raced a lorry yesterday he was doing 60 in the outside lane and i was doing 70... an' i overtook him... oh yeeaaaah! :D

I dont think minis are particularly fast round corners by modern standards.. especially in the wet. However you can have massive amounts of fun with just some rubbish tyres and a 998 on roundabouts and empty car-parks in the early hours :teehee:

tried taunting a ferrari once, worst idea as he left me in a cloud of rubber :D

yep done the same except it was a carrera gt, think i had it beat for about 0.5sec. the bloke driving saw the funny side though, after all its impossible to hate a mini.

on the way back from brighton once i tried to catch up a veyron but understandably failed, had my camera fone ready though as it went past

i out-cornered a 200sx once, and a standard mini can go round roundabouts faster than any superbike I have come across.

i just hate the way some people are on here basically telling us off!!!! (im having fun driving unlike you, so just go and get lost for all i care)
especually ones that never throw a engine above 3500rpm. if i want to rev an engine higher I AM THE ONE PAYING for the petrol. ok?
and i should know. im a deicated cruzer! (cruzer meaning cruzing! - doing up cars to look good)

i do enjoy the best of what cars i have. especually the mini!
but you just can't beat the feeling. :D
forget the rust, and the stories of breaking down, the stupid non-working radiator in the morning, the poor ride. all the little niggally things. as non of it matters any more as you flick the mountney steering wheel into another corner. the mini doesn't flintch as you hurl round a tight bent and the thunderous noise of that 998 as you exit it.

as for other cars
what do they know at work? i have said countless times before..."if i wanted a car that had air-con, electric windows and soft suspention, i would have brought a crappy ford. what car nut whats a car that just goes to sit in and drive and never needs to be worked on or cursed when something goes wrong?

YOU CAN KEEP YOUR RUBBISH FIESTA'S, SAXO's and CORSA's

I HAVE GOT A MINI (i know what i've let myself in for) AND IM PROUD OF IT!!
:( :( :P :o :w00t: :sneaky: :) :) :P ^_^ ^_^ ^_^ ^_^ ^_^ ^_^ ^_^ ^_^ ^_^ ^_^ ^_^

:D when my rally car ws up on the road theres basicly 3 types of people

people who drive same regardless of what cars there infront of them
people who keep well back because the think "oh hes a racer will slam in brakes on or what ever reason
then...theres the people who stick right up behind because its had work done to it...thats rather annoying!
of course i go round corners fast, infact 1st day i was insured on the rally car i was pulled over, because because i was kinda getting used to the quickrack, all well its good at cornering, i was within speed limits like, but people expect you to slow down for corners? doesnt matter what speed it is as long as its safe (and in limit which is "safe") obviously i still had controle because i didnt hit a wall, dry conditions n such aswell

the people who stick right behind me tho(i always stick at speed limits in that purly because its so reconisable) if i knew it was some randomer i would accelerate just because i need to put distance between cars if i needed to slow down suddenly (didnt fancy replacing my boot floor ether)

i agree with this post, yep all good

and why do people get pulled for drifting, if no1 is about and they can control it let them get on with it, not that i can do it, but its fun to watch and im sure it will be fun to do

that is possibly the most stupid answer ever!

maybe "they can control it" well maybe they suddenly cant, maybe they crash one day taking out a load of people?? or better yet, your mini which your driving round the roundabout at the same time...sure your going to be happy then arent you??

i also do have a boring car at the mo, a volvo and i drive that how i like, i drive at speedlimits in it, people stick right behind me...why on earth do they have the right to try intimidate me? they dont!

i love the way my original post was " flamed " by certain individuals on here who use the open road as a track day,i merley said that if you want to drive to within an inch of your life then do it on a track where there is a controlled safe enviroment,a few years ago a friend of mine was killed on the road through no fault of her own due to " when boy racing goes wrong "so you can understand why i get so fuc@ed off at liitle chavs who hang on your bumper, overtake you in the high street e.t.c

I used to have a few cars always stick up my ass when I have my focus, decided one day to make myself a little switch so I could turned the brake lights on when ever I wanted.
All I had to do was wait till some idiot thought it would be fun to get bumper close then flick the switch and watch them s##t themselves as I carried on down the road.

With out a doubt that is one of the least thought through and most foolish posts i have ever read.

People are pulled over for their own protection as well as other peoples. The police are honestly doing some people a favour by revoking licenses and issuing Bans.

Race tracks are there to be wreckless on (with due respect to other people on the track) NOT PUBLIC Roads.

Tail gaters are treated to me washing my windscreen for a prolonged period of time, they soon back off.

Personally I couldn't really care if someone goes up my rear, the car is insured, it will be rebuilt.

My minivan is driven hard throttle has 2 positions on and of. same with the brakes their on or off. If I blow the engine up so be it, I paid for it, I'm going to have fun with it till it blows.

Its a fine line between having fun and driving dangerously, but thats a risk we all take, most of us are sensible and will be picky where we have our fun and in what conditions, I've had many moments of fun racing cars from lights, passing them on corners etc. Worse of all when I did write Katie off I was driving like a granny, but its just a risk wheter your driving fast or not the chance of an accident is always there.

I love playing with big old jags there good fin, boy racers I don't bother with much, as I like to have fin with someone who appreciates it and who will wave or put their thumbs up whether your quicker or not.

The classic car scene is much more fun, you get middle aged and older aged men who are out to have fun they wave regardless, and will happily come and chat to you if you stop at the next services etc.

Well, miniman andy, as a grumpy old man I should be saying "tsk tsk" along with these other sensible guys. But when I read this bit

forget the rust, and the stories of breaking down, the stupid non-working radiator in the morning, the poor ride. all the little niggally things. as non of it matters any more as you flick the mountney steering wheel into another corner. the mini doesn't flintch as you hurl round a tight bent and the thunderous noise of that 998 as you exit it.

it reminded me of me 45 years ago, so who am I to cast a stone?

You certainly have a soul.

Unfortunately I fear it may be parted from your body if you aren't careful. I was lucky. You may not be. :shy:

first mini, first car and dont want another!
doesnt bother me sitting at 60 on motoway to save petrol and not have constant revving from 998! most people have a good look as they go past and laugh if i fly past when im in a rush.
everyone loves the mini!

lovin the mini life
