With regards to keeping it standard length, what are you doing with the inlet manifold? Are you putting a box into the bulkhead or shortening the manifold itself?

Which exhaust manifold are you going for or are you willing to make/shell out for a bespoke one?

And what are you doing with the alternator??

gonna be boxing the bulkhead, but we're planning on buying a skunk2 manifold which is abit shorter which will hopefully mean less cutting etc.

we will be keeping the standard exhaust manifold ( for now ) might change it as the build progresses, depends on clerance issues realy. as for the alternator we're planning to fit it like this http://www.16vminicl...y...at=0&pos=32 if not it will be going to the side of the engine mount.

managed to get the engine into the frame today, what a kuffufle

any ways some pic to show it fits :D

got a fair amount of clerance on the pot joint so the engine can be moved back abit

the frame does sit a bit low but id rather the car bottom out and hit the frame than the sump

ITS IN!!!!

well OK it fits, and things will be very tight. i do like a challenge tho :D

that's obviously not the newish BMH shell you're testing fitting it in there is it?

Are you going to have room for the exhaust manifold on the front?

Looking good so far!

no thats an old scrapped shell which im using as a template to get every thing right before i commit to cutting up a new shell. it looks like im gonna have to cut a few mm out of the front panel but it wont be noticable when the grill is fitted.

just a little observation, maybe my eye's or your camera are tricking me?!,but the floor pan on the mini behind looks to have been welded inside out? where the drain holes in the front quarter are looks wrong and the flutes running down the panel.

finaly got around to building a crossmember today and trial fitting the exhaust manifold

i forgot to take a pit of crossmember before puting the frame back in the mini, i'll post one up next time the frame is out

did manage to take a pic of manifold clerance tho, which ime pretty happy with

also you can see the alternator roughly where it will end up being fitted, theres just enough clearance all around it plus it means i can use a standard belt and not worry about long belts and idler pullys etc etc

found some pics of my rad mock up, should give more cooling than the civic rad, the frontal area is less but the extra depth should compromise plus being a alloy rad it shud be 20-30% more efficiant to start with

the figure on the front is that of the actual core size
