I'm glad to see you've made your own subframe as this is what I was thinking of doing as I'm going to be using coilovers as well if I go to a vtec.
Just wondering where the project has got to now.
Thanks
funnily enough the frame etc was dug out last week and i cut it up and altered it a bit to try gain some extra clearance for the rad and moved the bottom bars up to gain more ground clearance. we also set about a little idea i had which hopefully when finished will mean we can use a standard inlet manifold and not cut the bulkhead but thats all top secret until we find out if it actually works

after deciding that we didnt want to cut the bulkhead we played around with the idea of making a wedge to kick the manifold up but after sending some cad drawings to various companies the cheapest price we got was £300
we then decided to cut the manifold angle it and get it welded so off we went to www.rallyweld.com
also while we where there he altered our rad for us, the filler neck was chopped off and plated over and the one out let cut and a fresh one welded on but at an angle to allow clearance
might actually make some progress now /

Do you know how many degrees etc this sits at now? And how much clearance you got now between the bulk?
Also did they say the chambers would be fine being kinked like that?
Builds looking good so far

There's plenty of clearance now, probably around 10mm at the closest point.
He didn't comment on how it would flow but said he'd done similar on rally cars, it does need a bit of porting to smooth it out a little.
personally I think it will lose a few bhp but I'm hoping they can be regained by a decent exhaust & filter

Any updates, judging by the last update jump you would've finished this and made it 4x4!!
