my pickup is now on it's side in the garage ready for stripping and rebuilding, yesterday me and retro10s took off the rear subframe after we had tipped it over. today retro stripped the subframe whilst i attaked the underside with a knotted angle grinder attachment.

it's a messy job!

but the good news is it's almost bare metal under there now and ready for patching.

tomorrow if the weather is good waynes car will be getting some much needed fresh metal and zinc primer.

pictures hopefully tomorrow.

i think i'll go shower now :shifty:

progress!

we had an early start today, i picked up retro10s at 8am and after a cup of tea and an episode of bo selecta we started work.

at 8:30ish waynes pickup looked like this....

an hour or so later and the final new rear quater was spotted on

then wayne decided he'd had enough sleep and joined us, just as i was cleaning out the tip on the welder (which i dropped in the back of the load bay and it managed to roll down into the sill, it can stay there!)so of wayne went to buy another and came back just in time for bacon sarnies and tea.
then came the rain. so we made a tent!

and then clamped the front end in place and began welding.

now all that is left to do on waynes is o/s outer a panel, repair the rear corners, repair the rear step and fit new valance.
