drop gears
drop gears cover
clutch
oil pump
rebore
all the bearings replaced
pistons
but the gear box is fine and is currently in a glass cabinet in the entrance to his work shop

had a call from Paul Inch this morning :'(

and some of the bad bit's

Drop gears with no teeth
cam follower with a big grove
cam lobe worn flat

anyone know how this sort of damage happens ?
the engine has only done 40k miles with a oil change every 3k or less

My initial guess would be valve that has been very tight in its guide (possibly only whilst hot) thereby putting a lot of strain on that rocker/pushrod/follower/cam lobe.
