YUP I have succesfully done this. I got painted 501 wedge bulbs reached up behind the dash and pulled the old bulbs out pushed the new ones in waited for it to get dark turn on my lights and I have never seen such dull lit dials, they were so dim i couldnt see the bloody things properly so I took them out immediatly and put my old ones back in.

Im going to buy these and try again.

Is it one bulb per dial? How are they configured?

The difficulty with LEDs is that many of them have quite a shallow angle of illumination... the ones I am using for brake lights, for example, are very bright head on, but viewed from an angle quickly appear dimmer.... I might toy around with some dask illumination ideas >_<

Yes its one per dial, then one for oil light, ignition, indicator left and right.

I'll post a piccy up of mine when it gets dark so I can take a shot at them, as the stroker said I got some for his mini from my works, they are made by Prism.

this was the effect i was going for like on vws, my dad had them in his passat and i loved it.
and if you do feel they are chavvy, 2 minutes you can return them to standard.

As promised. They come in packs of 4, I just used the last bulb as a replacement for my alarm light.

I have replaced the bulbs in an oval style centrre binnacle (speedo and 2 52mm dials) with blue LED bulbs to match my digi dash

the warning lights are easy as they can be direct replacements but for the backlighting I had to get some wide angle brighter LED's but also had to fit a couple of additional ones to the speedo casing
