Oh, I’ve got the nitro rwd version, well it started off as one, but I’ve since changed, made and bodged it to run a more powerful engine, 2 speed gearbox, disk brake (the standard ones crap) adjustable coil suspension, adjustable links, ball races, wider wheels /tyres etc, etc.

I’ve also got an electric rwd and fwd (was fitted with a 1/8th tamiay mini shell painted in a flip paint) versions of the same chassis, as well as various boxes of half chassis, suspension and gearbox bits.

None as of yet only old photos, it used to be a fwd one before I blew the engine, the con rod went through the crankcase, so I swapped the gears round in the gearbox and flipped over the ally engine/chassis place an turned into the rwd version.

I've got a pick of my electric fwd one though with the mini shell, unfortunately I’ve since thrown that shell away as it did get pretty battered, and tamiay stopped making the 1/8th mini shells so it never got replaced.

Anyone built an RC car from scratch?

Not as in kit, like your own chassis etc..

I designed/redesigned a lot of the parts on this and had a friend laser cut them. I tend to mod a lot of my stuff, I don't think I have any stock R/Cs. :-

Woooo another rock Crawler! :-

TUPERS!!! :) Fancy seeing you on here!
Never knew you were on here too? I knew you like Minis/Metros, but never knew you were on here...!
Hows it hanging dude?

I've got the Bender Customs SW3 Chassis for my Crawler.

I've also, redesigned my chassis for my RC drifter. Its was a wee bit long for the shell I intend to use, so stripped it, and shortened and thinned it out a bit.

Still yet to rebuild it, funds are lacking atm ;)

Don't go saying that to my crawler. Not many of us like the idea of nitro crawlers. This link might be of some use to you. Nitro Crawler

Here's some more pics of mine.

for a buggy you want to be getting something like a hyper7.. they come in kit or rtr.. there are mmannnnnnyyy variations on this model.. i think theres a hyper 8 and 8.5 now, but the 7's have been around longest and im pretty sure the parts are interchangable.
You can put a silly quick engine in them, or stick with the 21's that come with them :D
Have a look around, also, if your getting a truck, find an LST 2 or savage.. and uhhmm.. truggy, for just bashing and things, the one hotbodies do is alright, parts are cheap too!
theres a good site i use.. i think its www.modelsport.co.uk .. yep thats the one, take a looky and if you need help, feel free to pm me :)

Thanks 666

Thinking a savage maybe a little too much ££ for a start but liking the hyper 7 but on that site they only seem to be RTR and really want to build it, so will have a look around and see what I can find

thanks again

at the moment i have about 15 rc cars ;)
3 of them are minis
3 nitro and 12 electric ones
but my favourite is my associated rc18t with a brushless motor in it
its pretty fun trying to control something the size of a shoe doing well over 60 mph on a bumpy road
it usually ends in me hitting a curb or car wheel and then looking for all of the bits that have exploded from the point of impact. :D

i prefer my zagi though (thats an rc glider) because i have put a big motor on it so it can fly vertically up as far as you can see and it adds another dimension to the challenge of controlling it

by the way every car is for sale and i also have a rc helicopter for sale.
if your interested pm me.

Pics would be great.. :)

I have a wheely king as a bashing crawler.. and a errm.. whats the name, axial thingybob for proper crawling..

Was a bit cheeky really, i originally sold it for £50 to get it shifted as someone knackered the rear diff without telling me. :)

Anyway, long story short, it ended up at my friends house for a week and then she gave it back, and told me to keep the money! can't complain with that :D

I can't find my rc picture album! il have a hunt around ;)

I am having a guess that was a dig at me, about your rear diff?

If so, HOW THE FUDGE DID I KNOW?!

You were as puzzled as I was. Don't you dare start casting the blame onto me!

I don't care that it broke, as i told you i had another locking spool in the spares box.. its the fact you didnt tell me, just brought it back after using it on your own, dumped it in the corner and didnt mention it. When you clearly brought back as it was knackered. You wern't gone long, and the battery was still charged, and i know what your like, if it was still working you would of ran it till the battery was flat.
