Thank you peps! :w00t:

Spent the whole of Saturday working on it, had to change the plugs and leads. It wasn't ever so difficult, although I did spent a good two hours modifying a spark plug socket to enable me to get it on the plug! As you can see the plug is sunk into the block, and the head studs/nuts and exhaust and cooling pipes make access a little on the difficult side.

Anyway, got the old plugs out and leads off:

And new plugs (NGKs) and leads (Magnecor competition) on:

The car ran much much better after this, especially pottering about out of the power band. Sounded and drove much smoother. Unfortunately whilst doing this work I noticed that both exhaust manifolds have cracked! Both in the same place too. At first I was expecting a big bill (brand new they are £300 each), but then thought I should be able to get them welded. After enquiring on PistonHeads I found out they are only mild steel, so I can weld them myself with my MIG welder! :D Just going to be a weekend job to get them out, mended and put back in! ;) Oh, changed the burnt out wiper hose whilst I was in the engine bay for a new section and windscreen washer work fine now! :w00t:

The main priority now is to get the drivers side window functioning correctly. Had the door card off again last night to change a couple of the connectors for the weatherproof ones I got from Vehicle Wiring Products last week. The are very good connectors, I can see them being good for many many years yet, but a bit fiddly to put together. Anyway, changed them and it didn't do much (aside from making it work for all of 20 seconds). After more investigation I found the exact point of opening the door at which the window stopped working, so I now know its a break in the loom where it passes into the door from the body. I've been told there is a main connector there, so thats my job for tonight!

Wooo, managed to get the window sorted late last night! :P

After all my voltage readings, it seemed with the door closed I was still getting 12V at the window motor, which really really puzzled me. Then, after about an hour of puzzlement, I switched the multimeter to look for continuity and checked the wire from the motor plug, to the multiplugs inside the car. On one wire you could see that just as you closed the door, the resistance went to 1/infinity, hence there was the break!

The next couple of hours were working out how to get a new wire into the loom. The TVR loom has the braided plastic stuff over it, and there were two grommets at the door opening where the loom goes through. My first plan of connect the new wire to the old at one end and pull through didn't work after the old wire snapped at the break through the door! Couple of other futile attempts and was finally successful by sticking a old metal coat hanger through the grommets, attaching the new wire and then pulling back through. The new wire isn't inside the plastic sheathing, but it should be fine as there are no sharp edges it can really rub on. At least now I have a window that works properly, and will go up and down at my command! ;)

His was well nippy, acceleration was immense ! after about an hour of driving he pulled up, said "you alright opening the door" i was like yyeeeah why wouldnt i be ? then he explained the extremely complex door knob. lmao, embarrasing ? yes.

Jammy you're a banana.

I am actually contemplating purchasing one now.

Although I've always been more of a Griffith man.

I'm quite a fan of the Griffith too actually, and it seems they are holding their value a bit better recently compared to the Cerb.

Have to say though, the Cerb got me to the 'Ring, round three times and home again without a hitch (aside from the normal TVR glitches - window not going up and down, etc).

I know what you mean about the Lotus! I saw two Exige's that I simply fell in love with at the 'Ring. Am sorely tempted to sell TVR and Mini stuff and try and buy one!
