I was actually thinking of that for the rear door cards/bins. i think it would be hard to blend the doors into the dash unless you used of of "the STIGs" FG dashes or full moons dashes.

Not quite what i have up my sleeve either :D

I want to get started myself soon, but i've just got way to much tied up atm, soon though hopefully!

Time will tell...

Once ive got these sorted tell me what you want and il have a got at making something for ya!??.. im sure we could come to some sort of agreement.

Off topic: im going to have to put my venture on hold for the time being as ive got my eye on a S/C kit which ive been offered which is to tempting to turn down.

These are looking great...mine have been on the back burner this week as I've been fitting a stage 3 kit, and doing all the other bits that need doing alongside (flushing out the heater, new choke cable, new radiator etc).

It'll be interesting to see how that cracked paint stuff turns out!

Ruckus, Im spraying them in in this crackle/wrinkle effect paint that frosts do. It should hopefully match the top dash rail.

Paint

I am tempted to spray the speaker covers in satin black though

heres an update on the speaker pods, ive finally got them painted in the crackle effect paint. to use the paint you have to do 3 heavy coats one with horizontal strokes, one with vertical strokes and one with diagonal strokes. the paint doesnt require any primer and is a high temp (iro 450 degs) paint so can be used on engine parts.

I also painted my Minifin rocker cover that i bought off here (cheers Turbo Phil) you do use quite a lot of paint but (approx 1 and a half cans) i think it was worth it .

It looks a bit weird when you first spray it on and i thought oh Bugga what have i done but afer about 35-40 mins it had become as wrinkled as a 90 year old granny LOL. once the paint had reacted you hav to leave it to sit for atleast 24 hours for the paint to go ff properly.

If the weather improves this weekend il fit them along with my new exhaust.

Heres some pics of when the bits were first sprayed and when they had gone off (pics are a little dodgy though LOL)

cool, the pods are looking good, i was going to ask if anyone had done their rocker cover in the black wrinkle paint before, you've saved me the bother.

Are you going to sand back the fins on the rocker so the alloy shows?

Also, how much paint did you use on the rocker cover?

I used 1 & a half cans in total on the rocker cover & pods . i had sprayed it satin black before and sanded the tops but this is quite hard to do neatly so il probably leave it like it is
