well, when the chinese presented the handover to the British Olympics, and handed the whatever it was, to an Asian girl, I think that pretty much sums it up.

I'm not proud to be British anymore. We've gone to the dogs!

British doesn't mean what it did 100 years ago but try and look at it at a different angle.

Ok yes we have immigrant issues - who doesn't? To put it into perspective every American is an immigrant!

To me Britain means a whole bunch of things we've done more for the people of this world than every other country!

And it still gives me tingles down my spine to hear the national anthem on T.V,

However it doesn't mean I am happy with the current state of affairs we still have a certain togetherness that other countries don't have but it seems to have been left behind in the 50s. And don't get me started with the sell-out government, which seems to have ditched its labour roots to become a completley different and divided party.

Well recently, with current personal issues, I've decided I don't like England.

one.
The Pound is no where near as stong as it was, who's idea was it to bring the Euro in?

two.
Living costs, people are struggling!! Doesn't matter if your poor, average or rich, we're all in the same boat! We're over taxed, there are other issues but I am not going air them all.

three.
Property. As a young lad, I, aswell as others, want my own place, but thats not going to happen with the current "credit crunch", and the goverment playing silly buggers with taxes.

four.
Poor country managment. Seems, like this country has no structure of organisation any more. Putting a bad on domistic disapline was a bad move. Kids aren't being slapped, or disaplined like I was when I was a lad, so they get away with blue murder! Litrally!

With all the thing above, I've decided to do my life plan, Work my fingers to the bone, and get as much cash as I can pysically get, and bugger off. I know other countries have there own affairs, but here... its just silly.

Oh dear :D

British in a civic sense is having British nationality and a British Passport. But anyone can get those.

To be truly British, my belief is that you need to have had at least three direct generations of your family have lived here.

Am I proud to be British?

Well, proud of the country the people before me built, and fought for. Not proud of what we are today. I can't seem to find one person who actually likes the current government or believes the country is in a fit state. That says it all really :P

It is amusing to think that 2 years ago a friend said that Labour are good, yeah they've failed on immigration, the NHS, the Police Force, etc... but they've built up a good economy! Look at it now :(
