You do know how this recession came about don't you?

yep...It's Americas fault. Maybe Bigfoots? Not sure. Probobly has nothing to do with the over valuation of Homes in GB by young 20 something Knownothing estate agents who couldnt tell their bums from a hole in the ground or Alistar Darlings comical "one charge" program funded by Blair. Intrest rates? BAnks in the UK giving out mortgages for over and up to 250% of your income and not caring about the debt to income ratio?

Probobly not. I'd stick to the ole' favorite of blaming America. Works most of the time.

Remember Brother,I love England so dont mistakingly flame me for being Patriotic.LOL

Oh and the govenment are lying scum apples.

Jammy, is this thread going to turn into a USA vs UK is it because I don't think I will get off my laptop all night if it is.

I hope not Brother.....I may loose as I've had a Beer or two already. LOL

By the way...I must know what a"scum apple" is?

Try walking round Hoxton Square & Old Street (in that London), darling. It's all flat-caps & trilbies. Has been for about five years. :(

Britain = a genetically diverse population of surprisingly talented, but self-deprocating moaners. :(

Sorry, I wasn't sure if you were agreeing with my blaming the recession on the Americans or not. Still not sure to be honest! lol

But its generally thought, so I believe, that its down to the Americans taking on stupidly high mortgages that they couldn't afford, record numbers of people defaulting and losing their homes, leading to banks and financial institutions having problems, by this time the snow ball was rolling....

I read somewhere that the most british thing is Apple Crumble. the article even had a picture. made me hungry! :( err to be british? to put up with things? it seems to be all we do as if we fight back we get flung in jail or fined! as for what britain is about.. making sure everyone else is happy except the british!

I love my country, really! but there are times when you read things in the paper and want to scream for the injustice of it!

well isnt this the happiest thread on the forum... hehehe.

fair enough a lot of *rubbish* goes on in this country but then others are far worse of than us, yes i get annoyed when i see things about ilegals on the news. and yes i get annoyed when i see a little old lady gets fined for giving the tit that tried to steal her handbag when she hit him with her walking stick but that is the way this country has gone.

not wanting annoy the americans i can blame them for this stupid Sue who ever for what ever attitude..... i caught someone trying to steal my car stereo whilst my car was on the drive. i gave the kid a smack in the mouth whilst on my drive way and i was the one that got a letter through the door asking me to go to the station for questioning.....

British means being proud of your roots (I come from 3 generations of English Black Country canalboatmen) Coming from a country which has stood up for freedom countless times (and won) Having one Grandfather who fought in both world wars and one who fought and won a medal in the first world war. Fish and chips, faggots and peas, cups of tea with custard creams, football, cricket, King Arthur, Robin Hood, William Wallace, Rob Roy, Fingle the Giant, Rourke's drift, Shakespeare, The Empire, Sir Francis Drake, The Battle Of Waterloo, The Battle Of Britain, The Spitfire, The Dambusters, Sir Winston Churchill. Countless inventions (maily Scottish), Haggis, Black Pudding. Having the best fighting men in the world in our Army, Navy and Airforce, DRIVING A MINI, Del-Boy and Rodders, Rab C Nesbitt, Monty Python, Spike Milligan, Tom Jones, The Beatles, The Who, Punks, Mods, Rockers, Skinheads (the original ones), 2-tone and Ska etc etc.

I welcome immigrants as long as they actually have something to contribute and offer our country, washing cars and cleaning can be done by anyone, there's too many here. End of. That Olympic handover thing was a joke, What did that London bus with the bush on the top and the little asian girl have anything to do with the rest of England, Scotland, Wales and N. Ireland? It's all about London as usual. One thing the Liberal PC brigade need to remember is that this is a Christian country were 90% of the population are native, white British AND I'm not a racist for saying that. We're a tolerant country and the immigration in the 60's has enriched us (especially as that immigration was from our former empire anyway) The immigration of the last 11 years has been beyond a joke and it's horrible to go into certain areas and feel uncomfortable because EVERYONE is foreign and speaking in a different language!
