David can obviously help you more than I can, but if you get stuck and need a hand with anything at all I'm only down the road too.
I've been sourcing almost all the parts for my project from guys off here, this forum is fantastic for parts and help.
Also, Curley Mouldings is only in Marden, a fibreglass front could be an option for £150?

is that all you paid for your front end? very reasonable and i have contacts with him lol!!
i think both myself and your good self should pop over and get cracking with oli and see what we can do.
"right said russboy, gotta get the front off, with this here chisel shouldn't take mo........"

Hi David,hello russ

I haven't ordered the front end yet but they quoted me £120 something plus VAT and ready in 4 days.
The guy showed me one they'd just made and it looked extremely good quality.
I'll bring my chisel!i think both myself and your good self should pop over and get cracking with oli and see what we can do.

david, advice very much taken in. i had a look at m-machine yesterday and was amazed i hadnt thought to use them before. so much cheaper and yet they still look high quality, and of course the fitter will make all the difference, which is why i dont want to do it myself

thanks russ. anyhelp would be very very much appreciated. too many hands isnt an option. there can never be too many. and another very useful contact. your welcome to come and help, chisel included.
im now very much looking forward to this rebuild, and by the end of tomorrow i should be able to finally get stuck in!

tuktuk, i was thinking about buying a 998 to see me through. its just finding one at the right price thats difficult. i ideally need one with a full years MOT, and one thats been well enough maintained to be reliable. it took me a lot of time and money to get to that stage with baby. but i would like one so i can follow up with another project straight after babys finish. ive always wanted to do a 2.0l redtop clubby conversion

thanks mate. she will be repaired

im sure they would look at her and give you a price, and the panel beater that advised/helped on mine has a mk1 cooper he is restoring and a mk4 italian job that he is repairing too. Send me a text tomorrow as im off work on friday (wife's b'day but she is working) and I will pop up and have a look with you if you want.
i have done a little bit of welding so would be happy to do some of the work for you, but in order to fit front end panels (wings, inner wings, front panel) you would need a good subby and the floors straight.
looking forward to helping you out with this to get her back on the road

full circle sounds like the place to go then. it would be very useful for them to take a look and give me their opinion and price too as im going to be spending while im earning sort of thing. still yet to find myself a full time jobmine was panel'd prep'd and painted at full circle in marden.

ill give you a text when the engineers gone and we can arrange something then

thanks that would be great also. my dad and i (more him so far) have done a little welding on her on a mig to get through the MOT but not good enough to do panel work etc. after assesment priority will be put into getting her on the jig if we can, and getting a good subby too. tuktuk's thread has given me a little of an idea of whats involved.
im glad your looking forward to it. i am too

ive just remembered the morning before the crash, while looking out of the girlfriends kitchen window at her, i said im getting a bit bored because i havent had any major work to do for some time, just maintenance, and the day before i had that offer for the metty turned down. ive said things like that before and she always turned round and bit me back at the worst time, but i never learned. this time she bit me harder than ever. just goes to show, dont talk behind your mini's back, they can hear through walls!
