Those blades aren't cheap! I didn't pay more than a tenner for my pair posted!

But you've still got to factor in the cost for a new (or used) set of wiper arms :)

No I don't

Not many people have a mismatched pair like me, so it's not fair to judge like that.

PLUS:

I've just checked and both types of wiper arm fit on my blades. For those interested I bought them here:

http://cgi.ebay.co.u...e=STRK:MEWNX:IT

I fibbed, they were just over a tenner, still cheaper than those rover ones though and as I say, they work with both arms although they'll need a tiny bit of extra work on the later hook style arms.

i honestly don't know haha.
thats how confused i am

these wipers won't fit onto my 89...however prawn has them fitted to his 70.

would i actually need new wiper arms altogether to be able to use these blades properly..or would using the blades james found by fine for the standard wiper arms on my 89

I think there is a little bit of confusion here amongst years and which type of wiper arms need which fittings.

If your wiper arms are of the bayonet fitting (see below) you can use the wipers that i linked to earlier.

If you wiper arms are of the U Hook fitting (see below) you can use the wipers that Deathrow linked to. Hope that helps a little bit.

Just to add to any more confusion (just for you shorty :)) it is probably possible to get the cinquento blades (along with the U hook connector), but then replace this connector with a bayonet style one :proud:

In my opinion yes, but like Deathrow mentioned, they are abit more expensive.

spose there is that factor but they aren't overly expensive though.

Yeah, if you have a current set of wipers you can just pop the fitting off and it'll pop on to your new ones. :)

Deathrow, I didn't have to do anything to my cinq wipers to fit my hook ended arms, they LITERALLY just clipped in.....

I wasn't aware of blades being available for older style bayonet arms either, I thought they were soley a mini thing consigned to the past!

I'll fit and test mine tonight and let you know how it goes:)

Prawn, mine clip in too, but theres just a little bit of play between the hook and the arm, totally acceptable, even the same on standard blades really but it's not acceptable to myself :proud:. Maybe your blades are a bit better than mine.

I just got so excited at the prospect of after 19 years driving I may be able to get wipers that work on a mini :( - I have ordered a set straight away.

I have then on the Focus ( I know, its a Ford) and they work so well compared to 'conventional' wipers.

Then £19.98 lighter I realised the my mini is a garage tart and has only been out in the rain twice in six years  .
Oh well, at least they will last a long time!
