Sorry, couldn't resist!! haha!!
Anyway this is how it looks now, much better me thinks! Just need to get some t-cut on there to get rid of teh outlines, although it's really not too bad!!

Not sure about spraying the steelies because I should be getting my tax rebate in the next couple of weeks, so will probably just wait to put some new wheels on!! 12x6 mini-lite styled wheels, with silver rim and black centres/spokes!
Also on the look out for a grille, seen a nice one on ebay...little bit different!! Will do until I can afford to mk1 convert the front end!!!

Had a real breakthrough today...eventually got round to finding out why Leeroy was so loud and running so rough!!
I've been thinking its the Y piece going from the manifold....but then today looking down on the manifold I realised the heat wrap was blowing....unwrap it a little bit and discovered.....A great big gaping crack in the manifold!!!...fantastic!!
Fortunately I was at home in PB, so grabbed a lift off a mate down to Minispares and got a new manifold and spent the rest of the afternoon taking off everything i'd tightened this morning and putting it back on again!!! :/
But now he is sounding fantastic, and running like a dream!! wooo!!!!!
So what started as a bad day turned into a brilliant one!!!!

However, lesson learnt.....never buy a second hand manifold that has heat wrap around it...you never know what's hiding underneath it!!!

After I took the heat wrap off I saw that it really was no good...wouldn't like to pass it on to anyone who could have more problems with it!
Been for a drive today, definitely still needs the carb tuning up...so may take it to a rolling road when I get a chance, but the improvement in sound is incredible! I now don't sound like a badly tuned Harley Davidson!!! haha!!!

Also richened up the mixture a bit and he's running even better! Although I'm still getting some pre-ignition and some popping from the carb that I need to investigate!! :/
Next on the list is a new grille and a good wash!!!

Think he looks much better now, even with the steels on...almost a retro street racer style...almost!! haha!!!
Just gotta save up for the 12x6's now!!
Also on the list is a set of 6x9 speakers. I bought a couple of pods (thanks Andy) and i'm now just deciding where to fit them...front or rear! hmmm....decisions decisions!
Will get pics up a bit later when it's brighter...bit too glum at the mo!

Done a good job with the custom console in there as well. How did you find fitting the radio? going to be doing mine soon.
Also great to see some photos of sunny Bournemouth

Have you had it on a rolling road after you fitted the Stage 1 kit? Interested as to how the performance is with this added. It is also on my list to do in the next few months.
Keep it up.
