Hey, thanks for the comment!

Fitting the radio wasn't too bad...I had to install from scratch so sorting the wiring out was a faf but there's a good guide in the ICE and Security section that I followed and it all made sense!! The only issue I had was the aerial, I bought mine from Mini Spares and it's obviously made with the radio being fitted under the dash in mind because the lead you get is barely enough to reach down to the place it fits into the console! Bit of fiddling and careful positioning and it was fine though!

Haven't got round (read: the money) to do a rolling road yet altho it's definitely on the list! The difference is supposed to be quite big, although the difference with just fitting the kit has been good as well!!

I'm doiwn in Bournemouth at uni as well, lovely place to be....will get some more pics when the weather is a bit better!!

Bit of progress last couple of days....but only on the wallet!!!

Bought some Infinity 6x9s for cheap off ebay, fantastic! But have also found some Metro door pockets for sale that have had the speaker section modified so they will now take 13cms!!

So the plan.....

I will take the 13's out of the rear parcel shelf, put them in the door pockets, and then take the 6x9 speaker pods I bought and cut them down so I can put them in the rear shelf without cutting the metal any more!!

only question is...do the metro door pockets fit into the same holes as the standard mini ones?

hmmmmmm will have to see when they arrive!!!

I tried with the pockets from an 83 Metro and they did fit the same holes

Really? Fantastic, I'll have to wait and see I suppose, looking forward to having some more sound though!

The 13cms are great for what they are, but I need that extra push from the 6x9s!!!

Right it's been a while since the last update! This is where I'm at:

Now got 6x9's under the rear seats on a board, sounding really good -

Today I had some Metro door pockets pitch up, so whacked my 13cm speakers in there and put them in the front:

It really is true what people say about how much difference it makes by having speakers in the front! It's great!!!

Only problem is, I can't go out and enjoy the car because the driver's side rear wheel is spewing brake fluid!! So it's a suspected rear wheel cylinder problem, went down to Halfords today to get the bits to do it and they didn't have any shoes or cylinders in stock. so have ordered them and thwey should come in at the weekend!

In other words....can't drive him at the mo!!! But MOT is just around the corner so it's giving me the opportunity to sort those little niggling bits out that you cope with until you actually need to sort it!!

E.g. The group 2 arches weren't put on as best as they could...now they are!! Next on the list is to sort out the little leak coming from the exhaust system!

Every cloud...etc etc!!! :D

Here's a couple of pics with the arches on etc...one with and one with out snow!!!

Enjoy!

Good to see you speakers went in well. How did you find putting the speakers below the rear seats?

Going to have to do mine soon as i have no tunes.

Does sound so much better now!
