i should be back for a little bit next weekend, though not quite sure when as i need to bring the viva back down to brighton to get powerflow to fix the exhaust.

would love to take many many bits off your hands but unless my loan miraculously comes through, i wont have any money to spare at all im afraid.

will stop drop by for a catch up though  pm me details of where you have moved to.

Ah, hello everyone again. nice to see someone has remembered my project (ooops, my bad :))

Regrettably no progress has been made, still waiting for my dad to give me an extra hand to get the engine apart, still saving up for things etc. got tomorrow morning free. ill do my best to get up early and get organised.

Also still sorting out things with the viva; mods, manifold, exhaust, looks like ill have to get a new alternator as well :)

Thanks for the interest, i'll try to bring you some interesting news soon

well i did something today…i guess it could be classed as progress. basically it was just stripping the shell more. taking out the glass (apart from the side against the garage wall), dash, rear light, petrol tank, boot lid (which now resides in my bedroom). im running out of space in my garage now though, its getting annoying. plus i'll need to roll the shell out at some point soon to get the remaining glass out and the doors off.

My windscreen surround is a mess! no wonder it leaked, theres not much left of it in places.

not much else i can do at the moment though, and im going back to uni on sunday :D bah humbug!

Made some progress...kind of...again.

Eventually got the timing chain and cover off, all went smoothly. So then it was on to the clutch and flywheel. Having borrowed the tool to pull it off twiglett and good few months ago, I thought I was set, oh how naive I was.

After failing a little, and twiglett himself coming round to have a look, he rightly pointed out I was an idiot as I hadn't put in a socket/nut/thing in between the puller and the wheel. With that problem sorted and out the way we cracked on only to find that one of the threads in the wheel had been well and truly munted.

So now I'm left wondering how I'm going to be able to pull the wheel off if I can't get the puller to 'attach' to it properly. Any help and/or ideas are very much welcomed...as I'm stumped.

In other news today, I got the original Viva tyres re-sealed, and got the steels back on. I then took it for a quick whizz round the block to make myself happier...woo! i also calculated the cost to repair and renew the parts needed on the Viva will come to around about £1k. As you can imagine, I'm ecstatic! :(

take it somewhere? bahhh, effort :P

I'll get back onto sorting that out when i've sorted the viva. Ordered my new -50mm springs the other day, will hopefully finalise shocks and parts tomorrow, then finalise what bushes i will be getting. Need to get in touch with David about taking it to full circle and then she'll be ready to go back on the road. then need to get the weber rebuild kit and spares, stick the head and weber on and get a tune up, and ill be happy :tumble:

Also have a tyre still to sort out, and what to de-rust and paint my steelies, but not sure on the best way to go about it

you could drill and tap the muted hole to metric M12  you might have to modd the puller as well.
Oli get another shell.
