Regrettably no progress has been made, still waiting for my dad to give me an extra hand to get the engine apart, still saving up for things etc. got tomorrow morning free. ill do my best to get up early and get organised.
Also still sorting out things with the viva; mods, manifold, exhaust, looks like ill have to get a new alternator as well

Thanks for the interest, i'll try to bring you some interesting news soon

Eventually got the timing chain and cover off, all went smoothly. So then it was on to the clutch and flywheel. Having borrowed the tool to pull it off twiglett and good few months ago, I thought I was set, oh how naive I was.
After failing a little, and twiglett himself coming round to have a look, he rightly pointed out I was an idiot as I hadn't put in a socket/nut/thing in between the puller and the wheel. With that problem sorted and out the way we cracked on only to find that one of the threads in the wheel had been well and truly munted.
So now I'm left wondering how I'm going to be able to pull the wheel off if I can't get the puller to 'attach' to it properly. Any help and/or ideas are very much welcomed...as I'm stumped.
In other news today, I got the original Viva tyres re-sealed, and got the steels back on. I then took it for a quick whizz round the block to make myself happier...woo! i also calculated the cost to repair and renew the parts needed on the Viva will come to around about £1k. As you can imagine, I'm ecstatic!

I'll get back onto sorting that out when i've sorted the viva. Ordered my new -50mm springs the other day, will hopefully finalise shocks and parts tomorrow, then finalise what bushes i will be getting. Need to get in touch with David about taking it to full circle and then she'll be ready to go back on the road. then need to get the weber rebuild kit and spares, stick the head and weber on and get a tune up, and ill be happy

Also have a tyre still to sort out, and what to de-rust and paint my steelies, but not sure on the best way to go about it
