And people still think cars don’t go rusty in Australia!

It was weird because the passenger side head light trim was in perfect condition.   But there was no panel on the vehicle to use as a starting point.   Very sad.

Can anyone tell me what the minimum height the mini shell has to be off the ground from level in order to get full rotation when on a rotisserie. I'm about to start to build one and I have limited height in which to work on my mini. I have about 1.8m in height in my work space

I don't know of the top of m head, but I'd say measure from the center to the corner of the roof (at 90deg to the center line) which should give you the minumim.

When Mine was on the spit the floor was probably 30cm off the ground?

What have people done for an aerial? I am thinking about filing in the hole on the passenger side guard. Plus what rebushing kit do you use to rebush the boot lid hinges? Are they the same as the door pin kit for the mk1 minis?

I’ve managed to pick up a Cooper S airbox recently. Does anyone have a picture of a surf blue Cooper S engine bay so I can see what it looks like? Despite my internet searches I can’t find any pictures.

I bought a set of stainless steel wheel nuts for my ROH Contessa wheel a while ago and found them the other day.   I trial fitted them on one of my wheels and they fitted without any hassles which was great to see.

Does anyone know how long the screws are for the cooper s airbox. DSN classics have two different lengths 18mm and 27mm?

Looking back and I really haven’t done much with mini in a while. Latest update is I have received a shipment from Minispares but haven’t had the chance to unbox it yet.   I will reveal it when I start some holidays in about a month during than time I am hoping to get the rotisserie finished and start the task of sanding down the floor.   I’ve narrowed down the mini to two paint colours: Smoke grey and Surf blue. I never thought that it would be so hard deciding on a colour. I dragged out the rear subframe and was looking at hitting it with a wire wheel, now thinking that sandblasting would be a better option.   What do people think?

I collected the subframe from being sandblasted. It looks like I’ll need to do some panel beating to tidy it up a bit. My biggest concern is the rust in the two dimpled sections.

Now do these section need to be there or can I just weld in a flat section of steel instead?

Got an hour in the workshop today. Made a start on the rotisserie but ran out of supplies.

I received my wheels, Hs2 carburetors and manifold back from vapour blasting.   I'm quite happy with the results.   Next project is to figure out how to secure the carb bodies onto my drill press so that I can drill them out to rebush the bodies prior to rekitting them.
