well been thinking that 65 bhp isnt bad but aint great for a 1275
so getting some hs2 twins and then thinkin i might redo the head gasket recoke the head check the bores and do a general mot on the head

and see if that with the hs2 and a sports coil get me some more ponnies also gonna then redyno it a college and set it perfectly

Sounds good mate, why don't you get some 1.5 roller rockers too? That would increase it too.

Moved onto taking the head off today, ready for the supercharger ;D :

Posted Image

Got the carb off first, that is now in my room ready to be cleaned up ;D .

Posted Image

Then the rockers came off, soon to be replaced with some 1.5 roller rockers ;D .

Posted Image

Then out came these.

Posted Image

Then off came the head. But I don't think it had been off in a few years, as all the bolts were on really tight, and I had to get the big bar :gimme: , and yes that was the same one that did me head in a few months ago :shifty: .

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

All in all, the head was in pretty good condition, the ports were good and so were the valves, but I'm going to strip it all down on clean in all up, and might even put some double valve springs in too ;) .

Posted Image

And the head gasket seemed in pretty good condition too considering in seemed it had been on a long time.

Posted Image

And this is how I left it today ;D .

Just purchased a few things:

HIF 38 service kit
Silicon by pass hose
Cylinder head heater take off
Rocker cover gasket
Gearbox rod change anti oil leak seal kit.

That should keep me occupied for a bit :) .

Well yesterday I decided to rebuild the carb as I got the rebuild kit:

Posted Image

Got everything ready:

Posted Image

Then as I opened it all up, everything looked really clean and tidy, so I decided not to mess with it, and just leave it as it was:

Posted Image

Posted Image

So will just clean the carb up and get an air filter on it  .

So decided to get the head bolts and stuff out of the block so I could go over it with some emry paper to get the cr*p off it, and also got the top bit of the standard manifold off too:

Posted Image

Still needs a bit more work on the top of the block to get all the cr*p off it.

Also this came:

Posted Image

So I can get that on the carb when it is all nice and clean  .

Well, after work today, I decided to take the exhaust off, and get it fitted properly and get the new manifold on :dontgetit: :

Posted Image

As you can see, not secured the best  .

Posted Image

Soon got the whole lot off though, then I began to split it all up.

There was a magic pipe on the standard manifold, so I could have a big bore exhaust on it without changing to an LCB, etc ;) , and I was hoping to sell the pipe on here for a few quid, but when my engine stabiliser came off, and the engine started to rock about, well...I think the picture explains it all:

Posted Image

Posted Image

Its weird, I can't see what it would have caught on :o , and I looks like a big chunk had been scooped out, but I'm sure its just a dent, anyway, thats scrap now ;) .

On a lighter note, there were some things waiting for me when I got home:

Posted Image

A silicon by pass hose, heater take off, gear box oil leak fix and a rocker cover gasket.

And:

Posted Image

A tap and die set :teehee: .

So they should keep me out of trouble for a few more days :o .
