have you flatted the front bumper back yet?

Yes the crane too , erm...not done that either yet , really waiting for the right weather, it seems to be too hot, or too rainy lol.

Looing good, which bit are you fixing to the inside of the boot? I'm guessing the smaller bit?
Boot looks nice, whens it going to be fitted?

Yer the smaller bit lol. Erm...not sure, might start it at the weekend, but I need the glue from Carl first lol.

I'll sort out some adhesive for the weekend !! , i will ask about the hoist

Right time for a big update . First, thursday I covered the back seats with the fabric I got:



It looks ok | , but is better than bare metal. Its a bit rough in places, but it will do fir the mean while .

Next up is yesterday. On friday I picked up an engine crane I'm borrowing of Carl (Camp Freddy), and then yesterday the engine came out , I'll let the pictures do the talking:



The mini ready to come down the drive .



At this point the only thing left holding the engine is was the driveshafts .



Then James came over and we began to lift .



Notice what we used to get it out with .



Nearly out .



And there is is people, OUT .





Now a very enpty engine bay , but a nice new one going in soon .

And today I stripped the gearbox down . Here is how I started:





James had already started to strip it down for me, thanks mate .

So I organised the bits and pieces and began. And soon enough it was all stripped :





And then I cleaned it:



And its looking good now . I'm having to get some new bearings one of them was nakered before I started, and another seems a bit 'gritty' and I need a centre oil pick up and a gasket set, so I might get them ordered tonight . But on the hole the last few days have gone pretty well .

Just a big thanks to James really, done a lot for me over the past few days and it couldn't have been done without him, cheers mate .

Thanks mate . Yup the engine bay is going to get some good treatment, so a bit to do in there too. I need to put a bracket on the subframe for bottom gearbox steady as it broke off from the subframe and just general stuff too .

No problem, glad it all went so smoothly, no hickups, and it was out nice and quickly.

Gearbox looks brill now, what was it like to strip?
