lol, it was a bit heavy. I was straightening it up because it wasn't quite lifting it in the middle and it was tipping to the left :ermm:

That looks good, does the engine go in straight with that on?

Gearbox looks brill now, what was it like to strip?

Gearbox was quite easy, had it all stripped in about 2 hours, but you had already stripped most of it for me lol :) , so I guess that speeded me up. The engine builder DVD is really good, really easy to follow too :P , just need to get the bits needed for the rebuild and have a look at that part of the DVD too to see how hard is going to be :) .

No done a lot today, got the last bearing out of the gearbox casing, and pressure washed the case and got all the dirt out of it, looks really good now, then I just started to clean all the internals. I have next week off work, so should get a lot done then :P .

Make sure you keep them in the same order, and just do one at a time and put them on the correct way round

Yeah the rods, but it wont really make much difference in your engine because nearly everything is new, but its just good practice.

Read your latest topic and agree with jordie and ethel, but it's probably worth while ringing mini spares and asking which way they reccomend putting the pistons in. The big end bearings will only go in the rods one way, and they sit in the cutouts, its self explanitary when you get the bearings.

A little bit done today, I took the old pistons off the con rods:

They were pretty n*kered on close inspection. The sides of them were scored pretty badly. Anyway, I cleaned up the rods and I had some nice new shiny pistons to go on the rods, and on they went :- :

They look good  , just need to put the rings on and they will be done. I'll hopefully do that at the weekend, but I'm off work next week, so I'm hoping a lot will get done then  . Also tomorrow after work, I'm hoping to go and pick up my block and crank from MED, just need to ring them in the morning to make sure my crank has come back from the heat treat, then it will be ok for collection  , can't wait to see the work :P .
