runs means you also got plenty on, just leave it and block flat it, you can get runs in primmer, thats the joys and best way to learn as can be sorted fairly easy... paintwork is all about trial and error and you learning so all good, you prob wont go to close now next time, to far means dry spray which again isnt a big issue as again can be flated down. just try and try again, you will get the hang off it im sure Emma
you done alot tho in a day as usual!
yeah its not bad for a first go (ish), but that is the worse bit!!!, i'm sure i'll get plenty of practice tho!!!

it really just wasn't good enough with what we did yesterday, so i took the plunge and

cut thru the bar, twisted the door, and hey presso lined up perfectly!!! undid all the knocking in of the outer lip we did, twisted it some more, then welded the bar back up....
job done, i really glad i did it, else it really would of bugged me!!!!
then as the welder was out, welded in the a panels

oh and the top of the door skin on the drivers skin as the welds had cracked!!!!
and got the spot welder out and spoted the final seam support on

then finished the rear quarter

and passenger door and door step

then put a bit of filler
the dreaded filler!!!!

so tomorrow will be a panels, drivers door, and front panel, then try priming again!!!

Remember the best show cars and come to think of it brand new Mini's from Rover had filler on them.
(I'm not doing a very good job of convincing even myself here
As long as it's used to correct irregularities in the panel work and not used structurally you will be fine.
Good job with the door, Can you do mine next???

Filler isn't a bad thing if it's used as it's meant to be used.

no i hate them!!! GRRR, no with out the strengthen bars in they are REALLY easy to twist into shape, dad line my sisters up in about 2 seconds, just grab the top of the skin and bottom, then twist accordingly, (you're meant to twist them....)
i know the fillers not bad, we used loads on the trailer as both of the rear quarters were disorted and the join on the lid for the 2 roofs, was all over the place!!!!
hopefully i'll get away with only a few little bits of filler here and there to straighten things up a bit!!!

so today
sorted the rear quarter

rubbed down the a panel and put some filler on

then i went home to get some spray putty, because i forgot to take it up, went to go back up the farm, turn the key nothing!!!!, damn minis!!!, on of the wires on the soldnoid had broken off its connector, 5 secs, fixed (bodged a bit, but i need to tidy up my soldnoid wiring soon anyway) spary the putty on the sky:

bloody reacted with the white paint!!!, grrrr, i also put it on the few bits where there was dents and had been primed and that was fine, stupid paint!!!!!
anyway, so cleaned up the braze on the front end,
rubbed down the driver door and a panel

and started to tidy up the boot floor (more filler cough cough)

i've also just a bit of filler to bring the edges of the front panel out inline with the wings.
tomorrow the plan is to rub down the filler, and the drivers door step, then front panel and bits with the putty on, and hopefully bonnet and boot, then some more primer, (if i can remember how to mix it!!!!)

Hehe! Hardly any runs, see ... practice makes ......
i know i'm well chuffed!!, i need to put in some more harder tho, because it was a bit soft at about 3 this afternoon.....
then last night i sprayed stonechip in the boot, then under neath which all reacted with the white paint i used, so i gotta strip it all off today, repaint in the red oxide, which won;t react, then re stonechip (when dad has brought me some more
