today i cleaned up the rest of the floor

Posted Image

just the outside of the bootfloor left to scrub!!!, ordered a schutz gun to put the stonechip on, hopfully it will be here soon and i can do under all the arches and floor and boot floor, i must paint under the arches white first...

the cleaned up the roof gutter and seam strips at the back,

Posted Image

Posted Image

drilled a hole in the bonnet hinges, so the bonnet goes back on the same place

Posted Image

then i offically hate this door

Posted Image

how ever much i try to bend, twist, hammer it, the bottom bloody corner still sticked out!!!!, i'll hammered the bottom in a bit, then tryed to bend it, (then got a bit thick and bent it the wrong way :) ), then ended up kicking it and hitting it with a hammer..... GRRRRR, i think it will take me and dad pushing and pulling to get the bloody thing in. i'm kinda wishing i hadn't bothered with the strengthening bar now.......

the other side is perfect tho!!!!, and i put a bit of old door rubber on the lip to stop them banging, every time i forget its not my mini and slam them shut

Posted Image

apart from that door its all going really well, and i LOVE the fact that it was hammering down with rain today and i was nice and dry and the sky was nice and dry inside :D

i'm gonna try and get all the old glue off from the headlining and sound deadening, scrub the boot floor, paint under the front arches, red oxide the roof, and i really must do something about the exhuast tunnel!!!!

That door doesnt look to good like you say, looks a little twisted to me or the top inner a panel repair section isnt quits in the rgt place...mmm im sure tho with a bit of help of your dad then you'll both get it more somthing like, if you schutz or stone chip the inside of the roof alos it also acts as soundproofing and makes the roof far less tinny etc,.... works very well and also stops condensation forming, dont ask me how but it does! ( morris minor van rear roofs always filler up with condensation and then runs of into the gutters and rots them out! when i restored my van i tryed everything to stop the condensation in the winter and after everything i brush schutlz the inside of the van roof only and thios stoped it!!!! no more condensation and no water in the gutters.... also i found it made the roof no more tinny and solid like...... its does work and think youd be amazed how much... also another tip, if you use some stick a flex- panel bond sealer between the bonnet cross bar joins and bonnet, ie run a bead between them like sealer this does the same thing to the bonnet and makes a nice clunk when closing the bonnet and again alot less tinny

thats quite good adive, i might have to try that!!!

i really do hate that door, it stuck out before the inner finch was repaired, so i'm ruling that out, but i think it might of been twisted when i welded the bar in, which is keeping it twisted!!!, but looking along the bottom edge there was a definite bendish in it where the door started to move out, which i've almost got out now, which has pulled it in a bit, but i can see me ripping the skin and bar out to start again.... it can not under any circumstance stick out like that..... it will bug me forever!!!!

i might look back over some old pics to see if the door does it then aswell tho...

Thanks

i'm kinda thinking the only way around the door, is to cut the bar in half twist the door, then reweld it!!!!

ok, so yesterday, i cleaned up the exhuast tunnel and red oxided

Posted Image

flatted the runs in the paint inside and out side of the boot

Posted Image

Posted Image

stripped all the paint off the roof

Posted Image

and red oxided

Posted Image

and my heater hoses came, so fitted the silcon bybas hose and water pump
Posted Image

and found my old pipe, i had left it on the farmers side on the barn when i was shot blasting it!!, it was buried on the dusty mud, and probably had a tractor drive over it, buy hey, its fine!!!

Posted Image

and decided i really missed my puddle outside

Posted Image

NOT!!!!!

so today, i took most of the glue from the headling off

then painted everything white

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

so they are ready for stonchipping when my gun gets here!!

then i started on the boot,

Posted Image

which to be honest is pretty manky!!!, i also measured where all the sky decals go so i can put them back on the right place, with one pinstripe 5mm higher than the other side :dontgetit:

the reason why i am keeping this boot and not using another is:

Posted Image

its got a enclosed inner skin, and is one of the main things i remeber when i first saw it, and started to want it, all the way back in july 2006.....

so a quick clean up turned into a slightly longer one, because it was really rusty under the paint, so i had to basically strip all the paint off!!!, i don;t think its orignal because it had a different coloured primer than everything else

Posted Image

then i had a small bit to weld up

Posted Image

then red oxided

Posted Image

tomorrow i will spray a guide coat on the shell, then clean up the bonnet (again) and start to rub down the body....
