went up the garage yesterday, went to blow all the dust etc off the sky with the airline, turned on the compressor, and thought that was taking a long time to fill up and cut out, brought the airline round anyway, pull the tigger, nothing?????

so checked the gauge 0, what the hell, then saw this:

Posted Image

the farmer had bloody driven a tractor into it, and snapped the take off off the compressor :P

dad has managed to get the remains out, so just has gotta new take off for it!!!!, not happy!!!

anyway, its horrible with out the airline, we are so used it it, i was like, well what do i just now to get the dust off?????

so sprayied a guide coat on the sky

Posted Image

took the bonnet off and cleaned up and red oxided, then the stereo broke =]

not doing well!!!!,

so anyway, i've started to flat down the roof, there are only a few minor stratches and blemishes on the paint and a few timy rust spots!!!, so i reckon it will only need one coat of primer =]

sounds like you didnt have much look yesterday! you need the air line and stereo is essential! lol ! dont rush the preparation Emma, the more time and effort you put in now the better the final fiash will be, its all in the preparation and i no it can seem endless at time but will be well worth it when you start putting all your new items and BLING on the freshly painted shell!
Stick at it Emma, you doing a fantastic job, i think this going to look fab when youve done it! Well its saturdy 10.45 am and i guess youll be there now and working o the sky so i expect more updates tonight!! :P

ok so took up my old stereo, so we finally got some music, really can't live with out that!!

Posted Image

so with the tunes sorted, dad came up and for the pricey sum of £3.50 fixed the compressor, and also fixed the leak that it had at the same time, so it doesn't restart and scare the hell out of us every hour or so!!!!! happy days

then dad got his morris and tryed to tune it up but failed, and a flat battery didn't help things, he reckon the carb is duff, but we have already changed the carb once, because it was running all over the place, now the one that is one there is my old carb (which we took off, because my filter king was pushing too high pressure thru it and it was overflowing) which ran fine on my engine, so i think its something else other than the carb, bearing in mind this engine has been on a head on crash with the centre barrier on the motorway..... and the timing chain end is at the front, so would of took the impact...... the timing chain cover had to be changed as it was peeing out oil and the water pump as it was peeing out water, so thats probably where the problem lies...

Anyway, back to the sky, finished rubbing down the roof ready for primer

Posted Image

SKY BLUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

i love sky blue, its so pretty, and ifound 2 very shallow dents, and a few other rust spots, but its in really good nick!!

then i moved on to the front end

Posted Image

Posted Image

the roof took up most of the day to be honest!!!!

but i also took the sky decals and pinstripe off, so offically the shell has no id :D and no markings :)

Posted Image

then started rubbing down the driver rear quarter

again a few rust worms, (well quite a few) and only one mayor dent so far just behind the door, at the bottom

Posted Image

the plan for tomorrow is to finally weld the a panels in propery, and take the spot welder up to sort it out!!, then finish the rear quarter, sort that horrible door, the rub down the rear panel, passenger rear quarter, doors and a panels, then prime!!!!! hopefully....

it takes less than 5 mins to fill, so isn't too bad, just makes you jump when it starts up, especially when someone else has turned it on and you don't know its on!!

we managed to mostly sort it......

we had a plank on wood from the passenger sill to the work bench, to keep the shell in place, then a bit of wood betwen the door and b post, then another bit of wood, wedged between the outside of the door and the frame that a morris is hung on next to it, then we hit that bit down, which pushed the door in......

i'll get a pic tomorrow
