Why! Why haven't I seen your project before! Well I just read through the whole thing over the past few hours and what can I say, It really is fantastic!
I love it :-
I don't know how you managed to keep it standard, There are so few original minis about now. It seems like every "restoration" turns in to something bearing no resemblance of the original car, with varying degrees of taste. I just wouldn't be able to resist "just getting this bit" and "just putting this exhaust on". Most of the proper restos are on mk1/2 car as well, It really is great to see a later car in full glory, and it really is in it's full glory now. Looks spectacular.
The actual project was great to read too, you have some proper enthusiasm.

Well done, KUDOS!

I'm dying to get out and do mine now, I'm off collage ill and I have loads of assignments to do but..... nawww....

THANKS!!!!, its not completely standard - but i think they are sensible/geniune mods to make it practial and comftable!!!

but it only goes as far as halogen lights, high level brake light, passenger door mirror, spi seats and under seat speaker board + stereo independent of the original

i 've always loved the sky and roses, so what it the point of having one, and it not looking anything like it looked when it left the factory, i honest think chrome would spoil it now!! as would alloys!!!

and i'm getting itchy fingers already to start the next ones!!! :D

ok, so i've have the sky on the road for 2 whole weeks now, and down about 600 miles!!, we've had a few hitches - rear brake pipe leaking and stripping all the paint off my radius arm, back plate and wheel - lucky the brake fuild light flash on before the brakes died!!!, then coming home yesterday the fan belt snapped, and i pulled over a later than what i should of done, so it got a weeee bit hot, but all is well and the RAC came a fitted a new belt sent me on my way and the temp guage hasn't gone over normal since!!!

so today i thought i take some proper pics
