I enjoyed the series bad lads army where they took said chav scum and taught them a thing or 2 about discipline.
Was an interesting series and it seemed to work (but who really knows if it did?)
I am unsure about national service, in some ways I agree with it in the sense that it will teach people discipline and get people working for the country and appreciating what the services actually do for them.
I had a German friend at uni and he did his service in the Airforce ambulance service, certainly opened his eyes, especial attending the scene of a bad fire.
Not quite the same but I was in the Air Cadets and learnt a lot there and enjoyed myself.
However I would think putting some scum into the services teaching them how to fight and shoot for a year and then release them into society would not be a good idea at all.
Perhaps they could use it as an alternative to going to jail like they did in the old days???
I am proud of my country, I think so many people forget how much better off we are than some people. I’m not saying Briton is perfect but there are much worse places!

Anyways, what would your wardens bait their chav traps with?
A nerd walking down the street listening to an iPod, talking on his flash phone with a fat wallet halfway out of his pocket.

However I would think putting some scum into the services teaching them how to fight and shoot for a year and then release them into society would not be a good idea at all.
I was going to say something like that. Do people really want chavs to actually know how to use the weapons they carry around?

Another story to add to this topic:
Hamster Madness
Now, perhaps the fire crews were bored, or have lots of extra money in the budget to waste doing 'rescues' like this... But I'm not impressed.... I hope the mother has paid for their time or at least made some sort of donation!

The hamster, who was being looked after for a friend during the school holidays, has now been missing for eight days.
That's enough time to be able to call the police about someone missing, isn't it?
