Gah, I can't wait to get a set of rear disks from them :P
I am jealous!

Haha thanks BadgerBaiter, I actually got them a fair bit cheaper than they are advertised for on their website thanks to deal they were doing on ebay and I got them Red rather than the Gold :) and then I added on to the order the quickshift seeming as I wanted one anyways at the sale price they had on. Very pleased and Adrian from KAD is a top bloke, very helpful. Eventually I will be back there to get some KAD 4-pots so I can fit mambas, but thats a fair bit down the line yet.

Interesting to see how effective that Quick shift is, something I've been looking to upgrade too. Hurry up and get it on the road so you can tell me :)

I wont lie to you, I bought it for looks haha

Although I would only go for the KAD one from what ive read, the others don't seem to have as much good feedback and wreck gearboxes, heard a few good reviews of the minisport one though. I won't be able to say much on the different to be honest since I only drove the mini all of 4 times till it was declared SORN and that was when I was 16 :) may have a mess around with them though and see if I can tell an instant difference.

So badly want it on the road now, still a fair wait though, im hoping July time but im not holding my breath.

Hey everyone bit of an ideas update,

Basically I want to change from a verto clutch to a pre-verto clutch and since ive got a free night im going to make a list of the bits I need to get to make it happen. Ive read guessworks guide on changing over which is a great starter to get your head around it but technically isnt finished I think as he made the guide before he converted over, so if anyone could advise on anything Ive missed that would be great :D

Plus changing over will allow me to get an ultra-lite clutch assembly :(

Bits to acquire;
-Pre-engaged starter (hopefully picking one up next weekend)
-Clutch Package: MED Clutch will go stage one if funds don't allow.
-Clutch Slave Cylinder: Genuine Clutch Slave Cylinder.
-Long Clutch Arm: Anyone got one to give me :)
-Locking Ring: £1.32 from Moss Europe; No. 47
-Release Bearing: £6.95 from Moss Europe; No. 4
-Pre-Verto Plunger: Minispares Plunger
-Spring Plate(Slave Cylinder End): From Moss Europe; No. 64
-Spring Plate(Lever End): £3.19 from Moss Europe; No. 60
-Clutch Arm Return Spring: £2.96 from Moss Europe; No. 63
-S/S Braided Hose to Slave Cylinder: £16.30 from Moss Europe; No. 9

Right from what ive read thats what I need, can anyone confirm that please? I know there also some wiring that will be required but since Im starting from scratch anyway I'll deal with that problem later down the line.

Thanks for reading.

Chris.

Also on a bit of a project update ive bought another steering wheel, bit more retro racing steering I think, so should look good :)

Its you :)

Yeh it does look long on the angle but I think its just because it hasnt got arches on and the alloys arent best suited to it at the moment, it isnt longer honest :D

Right well havent updated this in a while - shockingly not much to report as usual :o

Attempted the other week to build up the new radius arms but soon stopped as I needed the hub nut which is on the shell at the bodyshop ;)

On the bodyshop front I gave them a ring yesterday and it sounds good. Unfortunetely though the passenger side door required a new skin to get the door to align properly but needs must so not a big problem. The mini as a whole sounds good though, all welding has been completed part from some bits and bobs. The underfloor has been treated with Rustbullet then stonechipped and finally Sprayed ;) Graham from the bodyshop said it looks amazing and sounded some what smug about it so I'm really looking forward to seeing it. The rest of body is in primer and the interior is ready for paint and they were just in the proccess of finishing rubbing down the exterior. So shouldnt be to long atall till its ready for coming home ;)

I wont be able to open get down there till week on Friday to get pictures but will get them up asap

Still need to get cracking on with the engine and then put in an order to Carbon Weezel once ive paid the bodyshop for some sexy bits :genius:

Thanks for looking

Chris

Thanks Splitpin much appreciated ;)

Right well got a bit of an update from the sprayshop, much progress has been done since I last went, which isnt surprising really :shifty:

Unfortuntely I couldnt see the underfloor as the mini is sat low and I could only just see the sills, but they do look tasty. Have got some pictures which Graham had printed for me, so will if I can scan some in later.

Pictures that I took to keep you going though :P

Parcel shelf has been cut to make way for a Carbon Weezel one, they will be putting a piece of metal down the middle just give it some support if the rear seats are used.

Posted Image
Seam sealer has been used which I was quite impressed with as it gives a nice waterproof seal just incase.

They had also just sprayed the doors in primer but forgot to get some pictures.

Oh my :shifty:

Mine will look hopefully look exactly like that later this year!

I can't tell you how jealous I am mate! It's a real inspiration though.

On the tunnel, towards the rear seats, are you leaving the ash tray in?

Cheers Luke. Shouldnt be long till I get it back in the grand scheme of things.

Funny you should mention about that ashtray as I noticed that before when I posted, I asked for that to be removed but they've obviously forgot so will let them know tomorrow as they said they would spray it this coming week.

Chris.
