During the week instead of going to the gym after work because it was so hot and it had a metal cladded roof and wall, I went down to the garage instead for a couple of hours wednesday and thursday to finish off the stripping the floor of the bitumen and make it smooth using gunk to get all the little bits off, end result was this

I was pretty pleased with the result as its like new underneath!
Last week i sent some emails out to companies asking for stickers for the mini and during the week ive been getting some. Keeping them stored to see if i will use them on the mini or not but dad wanted to put some up, if i didnt stop him he would have used them all im sure, he didnt let me put up a one! There more than in the pics up but heres a couple

Today we wanted to start stripping the underneath of the POR15 (sorry britaxcooper!!!!) because the bodyshop said they've used it on a few cars (including their own) and after a while it webs and rusts underneath, so i wasnt going to run the risk on this mint shell!
First cleared underneath the axlestands all the stuff we stored there and then removed the axlestands from underneath

Then we moved the shell to one side of the garage

And then we flipped it, putting more foam pads where it was going to roll on to

Then we (i whilst dad put up the stickers) proceeded with stripping the POR15, it came off like paper! I just used my hands and picked most of it off, showing it would not have lasted if it was put to road use! Ths is what i managed to do with just my hands

The other bits werent as easy and required a scraper but this is where we ended today

And when we packed up for the day, I found it quite funny with the shell being on its side

Tomorrow im going down to Newark to a car show and pick up the GB's so will hopefully have some pics of them up tomorrow.

Picked the GB's up from Gumball, nice chap to say the least, have no worries dealing with him you ever come across him in the future

Well made up with the GB's, they look gorgeous! Had a little play with the callipers and disks in them later and there is a nice between the rim and calliper which is nice

Quick pic of the alloys as promised

As we made the 1 and half hour journey we went into the autojumble which was very good infact, more aimed at bikers but good none the less and had some mini bits in. I can never go to an autojumble and not buy anything so i got some glass indicator lenses for the front and a fuse box which holds 12 fuses.

Got back to the garage to store the parts and cleaned up a bit as you can see from the last pic in the previous post it wasnt the tidiest and had another go at getting the POR15 off which is getting harder to do now, didnt take a pic as it wasnt anything to write home about.
Hope you like the GB's!

Been watching yours very closely as were pretty much doing the same. My only advise is to save as much as you can for the body and spray as it soon mounts up, dont be buying accessories yet!

I'm a sucker for packages & new bits! don't worry.. I'll be moving into the garage this Easter holiday & payday rolls around soonish, so some spray & panels will be on order

Mm.. me as well, should look perfect sat nice & low, although I do need 4 new tyres.. wheel caps & nuts.. oh and a disc brake conversion

Not been doing a great deal on the mini recently due to college and work, anyway won't be spending anymore unnecessary money till the spray is paid for now and its in the bodyshop, specially now ive got to find another job

As regards workign on the mini im still trying to get all the POR15 off, but im struggling with some of it stuck on surface rust so it looks like im going to have to completely sand them areas which is a pain but needs must.
Besides the POR15 all ive done is stripped down my radius arms, but we had fun with getting the hub nut off, as nor me or my dad realised the left hand one had a left hand thread, but we did manage to turn it all the way round with our shear strength resulting in a nut with no thread (must get a pic of it), its perfectly smooth. Reading the haynes manual after was not fun reading

Went to Bingley on Sunday which was awesome with all the mini's and the weather, biggest mini gathering ive been to, show pics below.

Also i found the place which is going to do my interior, seem like a good company and the craftsmanship is second to none from what I saw. M.A.D. Trims.

Bought some stuff at the show also, which is my last splurge since I got the bad news

Items bought were;
x4 032R tyres - £160 (bargin i reckon)
Set of reproduction GB centre caps - £15
Door Seals - £17 pair
Nut for left hand radius arm (for the mistake above obviously

Inner CV Boots - £5 pair
Lucas Sports Coil - £14.50
Wood&Pickett Headlight Rims (planned on getting them for agers, there the ones which were used on their limited editions) - £35 (pricey though because only they produce them)
Also my suspension came from the TMF+ group buy a couple weeks back now

It was my 18th birthday a week back exactly today, mum and dad had a cake specially made for me, took me 3 days to eventually have the heart to cut into it

(The icing man is of no resemblance apart from the blonde hair)
Thats it for an update for now, hopefully I will start cracking on with more once my college work is out the way

Good to see this updated again!
nice work, shame it'll die down for a bit
Hopefully it wont, besides me having to do 5 assignments for this time next week it should mean I have more time to refurbish bits and organise whilst I look for a job, if I had the money for the bodywork I'd be set to finish the thing, only needs bits now and the wiring loom, everything else is pretty much on my shelves or stored elsewhere.
On that note, anyone tried to do there own wiring loom? I was going to buy a new loom but with me taking bits from different stages of mini I can't just say im going to buy a mk3 loom because of all the periodic bits now like the ignition in the instrument panel ect.
How hard is wiring as it's something ive never tried, not even wired in a stereo

Went down yesterday with my mind set on getting all the POR15 which after about 4 hours was done to a standard im happy with, any bits now on it would being very picky. Not really worth a piccy tobe honest as it was just bits which took forever to get off.
So next jobs are get the shell back right side up and take all the little bits off which need taking off for spray then go round the shell with some sand paper and get area where there is surface rust and then spray something over them patchs for now, just for peace of mind really. After that its a case of getting the shell rolling for the bodyshop.
Been looking at my figures as well and the money ive got in banks etc. and I do have the money to send it off to spray to get it mint and near enough finish it to the spec I want

Anyways thats it for now, hopefully i'll be doing some this week which will have pics to follow.
