I'm 37 but have always been around minis and mini shows because of the great community, i did also have a minor when i was 18, kept it for nearly 7 years as i loved driving it and the main problem i found with going to shows as a youngster was condescending older owners who only wanted to see standard unmolested minors at shows, anything else was frowned on, hearing another member saying my car had been "ruined" because i had changed the wheels for ones i could afford tyres for on an apprentice wage, even though we had modified 13" wheels (standard being 14" 145r14 tyres daftly expensive at the time) to take the standard hubcaps so it still looked almost the same and fitted a stereo inside the glovebox with hidden speakers the situation doesn't appear to have changed much, copied and pasted from a popular morris minor site
"The club has for example a 'custom and modified register' for those who want to do things specific to custom/modified Minors. I think they've organised their own events too but I've not really had my ear to the ground on what they're up to."
this statement shows that it's still obviously divided in one club, there's not much going on like that in mini circles (nobody mention BINIs) hence the "all ages" atmosphere and the huge attendances at shows.

Im 19, got my city at 17 but recently squashed it so im rebuilding it as can be seen in my sig. am now looking for another mini to use as my daily, but not having much luck so far. my city was my daily too, only car ive ever had and got it to the stage where it never missed a beat, proving mini's can make perfectly good daily drives.
there are also a few minors around tunbridge wells. was one down my dads road which had some nice chunky slotmags on, but i think he got rid of that for a sunbeam.

Hello.
I'm Kathryn i'm 25 and i have only ever owned minis. It's the only car i have ever wanted. I have a picture of me in a Tahiti blue Cooper S at the 40th anniversary of the mini....10 years on guess what i own now?
I think as a car is probably the second most expensive item you will buy after your house it's important to get one you love. I could go out and get a more modern car, that isn't as cold in the winter, has mod cons, is faster, etc. I have driven other cars, but they feel a bit soul-less in comparison. Besides if i got say an Astra or a focus i would never be able to find it in tesco car park, too many of the damn things around
