the mini is now at the bodyshop, where new sills, rear subframe mount pannels and rear valance will be installed along with other rust repairs.
i've had 1.75in OD tubing bent to make a rear cage, i have to weld the brackets and trial fit next time i'm at the body shop.

spent over 4 hours removing the undercoating from the clubby. what a messy job! on an afterthought, i shouldnt have used any degreaser. it made the black stuff become all gooey and tar like. in the end my gloves looked more like sticky mittens!
here's me, joyfull and ignorant, before going over to the body shop.
here's the clubby's messy bottom:
after a long scrub:
after a good rinse:

you just need 2 spatulas, one 1in wide and the other about 2.5in wide. but trust me, you'll wish you had it acid dipped instead!!

got some stickers made, didnt like the original BL Special tuning crest so i decided to design my own retro/modern version. its black over transparent, no white, so its gonna be really subtle over the dark gray.
here's the original:
here's mine:
the 2 big ones are for the A panels, one small will go on the right rear door, over the clubman estate badge. i'll put em on the car before it gets clear-coated.
i think the original BL enamel badge would fit right over the one on the A panel stickers, but that might be too much. i'll see when its all done!
