so your going to use a very short prop shaft so it's almost 1 lump ?
no prop shaft at all.
ENGINE>BELLHOUSING>GEARBOX
and the power comes direct from the side of the gearbox, down driveshafts to the wheels.
Here is a picture of what the G50 box looks like - not mine - but very similar (mines is a rusty heap at the moment)
the engine bolts directly to the left hand side in the photo via a custom adapter/bellhousing.

Id love to have it ready for the brands hatch to nurb?ring nuer?ring germany run in september, but we'll see.
The engine is going in so i can measure the rails etc, make brackets and that type of thing - but will be out again early may. Im doing my industrial placement for uni at a performance engine builder (im doing motorsport engineering) so I need something to learn on so that I dont damage a customers engine, so the v12 should keep me going for a while.
On the subject of the speed, it wont be anywhere near as fast as you would think till I save up all my pennies - the problem is gearing. I'll top out at 132 mph (and probably not get any traction in 1st or 2nd) using what i have here just now, but gearbox internals cost pennies and i can sort that once its running.
EDIT: I have attached a gear ratio calculator (Excel Worksheet) that I made to help me on my way. You can change all the values in 'Light Green' and it updates the calculated fields 'Orange' in real time.
If you have a power run from your car, then you can enter the torque values. Click the 'Graph' worksheet button (Bottom Left Corner) and it will plot your speed against revs, overlaid with your power and torque curves. This will allow you to try different gearsets, and compare them with your engine power to ensure that you will be shifting at the optimum places etc.
Hope its useful to someone.
Oh and you'll need to enter your own tire sizes etc, but its pretty self explanetory.

But I think 13s will be required till I get the gearing sorted.

On the subject of electrics, any idea where I can get crystal clear (no frosting, diamonding, etc on the lense) rear lenses for a clubman estate. Ive been working on an LED light module, but I need the lenses before I can build it to make sure it fits etc. The problem may be the reverse lights - they need to be 100mm away from the brakes to pass the SVA. Oh the lenses need to be 'E' or 'e' marked. I would be willing to buy a replacement cluster and take it to bits if neccessary to get the lenses.

Dont think you can get clear lenses for them as i have never seen them for estates. You could always change the rear lights to somthing else.
Ill be re-wiring my estate with a custom loom. Understand concepts and things but nothing on your level i dont think.

Whilst I was waiting I decided to make myself a Heated Gear Knob.
Its got 3 heat settings, and slides onto the stick before the knob goes on - only draws a little current and has built in temp control so that I dont burn myself. Just need to wait for some Silcaflex heat resistant tape to arrive so that I can insulate the heater from the knob.
Once the garage is tidyied up a bit i'll find my tempreature probe and calibrate it so that it does mabey 18, 22 and 26 Degrees C.
Next up for the treatment is The Steering Wheel
Im sooo looking forward to next winter

Just got to spend a while tidying up the project garage as its been used as a dumping ground for the last year - but me and the boy are on the case - and once were done, the cluby will have a nice warm new house away from all the evil rain and ice. Its the only way I think of to keep ahead of the rust!
The closeup shows the worst part of the rust (that i can see with a quick looky over it) - just behind the B pillar on the passenger side.
My mate thinks its funny as hell - the roof is just above my waist
