the boot locks a normal one just the handles inverted lol

got some new speakers, new shocks, rad cap and handbrake level

the nylon knuckles were in good condition and the rubber cones were some nice dunlop jobbies

kyb shocks are great the way forward car sit properly now

Small update mini even

converted my bonnet to mk1 style the other day when i was bored after work lol

and removed the grill surround and treated the rust that was there and i took the broken slat off

so here 2 pics from 2day when i got home from work





plan if end of the month if i have any cash spare get 2 new tyres new shocks up front and im gonna get petrol cap and new handbrake cable this week

i love mini sport got my handbrake levers the other day fitted and adjusted the drums now my handbrakes spot on

also been thinking about engine set up

plan is kenlow fan kit, duplex timing gear, new oil pump, fast road cam, new springs ect, new cam, crank and conrod bearings, over bore to 1293 if i can, new gaskets, new water pump, thermo stat, alt, new rad, leads, sport coil and hif 44

then i should see 90bhp

i think braided lines and better pads and thats it for brakes, flip fronts a deffo

and respray is either gonna be same colour, burple or metalic red depending on the budget

so yeh theres the update and comments welcome

forgot to add also have oil cooler and if money allows xpin, central pickup and maybe 3.44 final drive

had a busy day made a trip to mini sport for a head gasket set left with the turbo / h/c gasket set and went to bbc to get oil and the filter after 6 hours at work i go to my garage and started took me 45 mins to have the head sat on the bench

and after 5 and 1/s hours

the heads been slightly ported, valve relap, coke removed, valves polished, surfaces cleaned and new valve stem seals

the block still had the cross hone markings so the cars stayin 1275 for a fair bit longer

so yeh fitted the head and the manifold are are and the rad secured just need to plumb in and ill be startin bertie up tomorow

just need a new rad now, 2 tyres and 2 shocks and then the cars mechanically sound

still got lot and lots to do tho

tempted by silkolene 10w60 full synthetic oil i cant get away from the stuff

awww poor bertie doesnt know wether he is comeing or going with his oil's.
tho i guess thats one way of pretending he doesnt leak, change the oil every week.

did the tappets the other day and been driving around sooo much better pulls like a train over takings soo much more fun

on the look out for cams and twin carbs gonna dyno next week so ill post an update then

got my nvq l2 last year without touching a head lol. im impressed at your pace!

im not even doing nvq its imi level 2 motor vehicle ive already done 4 engine swaps / builds, 2 resprays, lots of servicing, wiring, alarms, audio well over 200 audio fits ect ect lol

ive managed to do 2 years practicals in under 7 months

i love cars especially bertie agreed a price on some cams, and just debating carbs with burny lol

but yeh get paid friday watch this space dyno run next week
