Everytime you get stopped ask for a "Stop and Account" form. This is your proof that officers have stopped and spoken to you, and on the form they have to provide the reason for stopping you along with there collar number and station they are based at. Once you have got a few of these ( about 5) and none of them resulted in any action being taken against you, then you should go to your local station and ask to see the inspector and duty sergeant because if you are doing nothing from then you are being harassed!

You can usualy tell the undercover ones because they usualy have more arials.

not any more, they use same systems volvo's started, the copper wire in the windows, allow you to have many areals on one plain of glass so you dont attract attention etc

also alot of the cars arent standard so will have more bhp than book models, which are obviously undesclosed because they dont want you knowing there secrets

they dont tell you anything about the engines in their cars my mate bought an ex panda vauxall astra diesel from ebay that is apparently 1cc and only has 1 cylinder according to the ownership papers lol

Im still in the progress of getting my car at the moment. But i find the police round my area are fine and most of them are really funny. My mate was ridding his moped was looking up in the sky at a hot airballon (he diddnt tell the police that was what he was doing) and ended up crashing into the back of a police car. They got out made sure he was ok checked his lience and told him to be careful. Didnt even take his insurence details. I respect police men as they dont have the easyest job in the world. Infact at my college theyve been doing a class to help you pass your theory. And the guy teaching the class was an x traffic cop and once told us that he had to pick up someones head from a field. Im fine with police pulling people over if youve got nothing to hide then your fine.

they need to get a life

This made me laugh. Why exactly do they need to get a life? To be fair they are only doing their job.

These "I got pulled over" threads always make me laugh, anyone would think we (Police Officers) actually care about the make and model of the car we pull over, and that we pull people to harass them. What a load of tosh.

Re the last few posts, Mark, a security guard called the Police because HE thought you had stolen your car, so the Police come along and stop you, how is that possibly a bad thing??? If your car really had been stolen and someone called the Police, how would you feel if they did nothing through fear of being accused of harassment?

Eden, you said some guy complained about the noise from your car, so they obviously called Police, how does that suggest Police hate Minis???

Police have to pull cars over, it's our job and its how we catch criminals and prevent accidents.

Fact is younger people have more accidents and commit more crime than older people so they're more likely to get pulled over. There are obviously loads of exceptions but Police have to use stereotypes to an extent. I accept that some Police officers can be rude and thats a shame, but rude people exist in every job. We're not perfect.

If you get pulled over then you know the Police are out there doing their job. If you'd rather have Gatsos and traffic enforcement CCTV absolutely everywhere, you're stupid.

I'm not the hugest fan of the police, but this man is so right.
They are doing their job, and if someone nicked your car you wouldn't be best pleased would you?

i've only ever been pulled over once in my mini, i was zipping along on my way to work at maybe a quarter past five in the morning at about 40mph in a 30, just as a meat wagon was coming up to the junction with the main road i was on. being that i was only doing a level 40mph it didn't take them long to catch up with me. the blues went on and i stopped imediately, hopped out, licence in hand and the first thing the ginger copper said to me was "building up speed for the hill?" i just grinned and said "yeah thats the one!" spent a couple of minutes talking about where i was going, what my job is (i'm a coach driver), and the car and once his partner told him that the car checked out with the computer he just let me on my way, not even a warning about my speed..

i have been pulled about 8 times when i lived in leeds everytime with good reason and everytime just told me to stop being an idot

anywho moved home got pulled by a cop in a defender told me i was corning with excessive speed (28mph) apparently too fast for a fiesta with semi slick tyres and coilovers set up for the track

then told me i was a chav and had a modified car that he didnt approve of and he said i could let you off and you've acted in the right manor and i have no proof you were speeding but im gonna give you a section 59 anyway

i was so enraged anywho got no paperwork through as he said i would and about 2 months later i got pulled on the motorway again no proof of speed but due to the section 59 felt he was within his rights to pull me over anywho this guy was really sound and then i got him started on corsa's (bad idea) he loved them lol anywho he just told me slow down but if he pulled me again he was gonna impound my car

so 2 months later i had fitted a 2.0 engine into the same car and everytime i went near a police car i would be followed as if they were waiting for me to go too fast

got sick of it so sold it and got my mini what can i say lancashire constabulary is the reason i got my mini and i couldnt be happier (appart from the condesation issued lol)

so i personally would like to say the police i have met are great with the exception of the young guy who gave me the section 59 i think people should lay off the police as on more than one occasion they've helped me out (break downs, theft of audio and mini)
