Your insurance probably does not show on the ANPR system hence you getting pulled! Dont worry if all is in order.

As for the punto ....no comment

30mph isent fast around a roundabout at all lol

if its a 50 zone can you go 50 around the roundabout or would they just call it wrekless?

I guess if you could prove you were in control of the car by doing again they could not say anything. A mate of mine got told off by a rozzer for doing a wheelie on his motorbike down an A road, but when he challenged the coper by saying he was in control he was asked to prove it. so he did the same again, twice. the copper gave him a warning, and a slapped wrist. Either a nice copper or he was darn lucky!

Sounds like the copper was having a laugh lol.

Well, was my turn to get a chat from the police. I was parked up, they came over, apparently my tyres were flat. I explained I'd checked them earlier that day (which I actually had - like actually). In the end I just accepted it. This was for one reason as I'd love to stand there and prove a policeman wrong. Luckily it was dark, and I wanted them to move on before they noticed the immense lack of tred on the tyres lol. They really do need changing.

So you'd like to prove a policeman wrong, but you're happy to drive around with a bald tyre?

I give up!

You can usualy tell the undercover ones because they usualy have more arials.

not any more, they use same systems volvo's started, the copper wire in the windows, allow you to have many areals on one plain of glass so you dont attract attention etc

also alot of the cars arent standard so will have more bhp than book models, which are obviously undesclosed because they dont want you knowing there secrets

I know that the CID cars, and the panda cars (Mostly 1.6 Diesel Focus' - honestly, who are they going to catch with these lol) have a tiny 2nd aerial on the n/s/r of the roof and a small disc, (looks like a hockey puck)

Also with regards to teh cars having more bhp than standard is enerally considered a myth, i know a couple of peoiple that work at HQ in Durham who service, repair and kit out most of the cars and they've all said that the cars are bog-standard with no engine modifications. Even on the T5 owners forum i used to use when i had my 850 T5, alot of people on there rock ex-police cars, and not one of them has ever produced a higher power output when on a dno compared to a standard model

Round here the traffic cops have either VXR vectra's or volvo T5's, which are tuned abouve factory, but only by the ECU's, nothing special.
they also had india 99, the most advanced police chopper in the country (at the time) but had to give it to metropoliten police.
oh, we have 2 lotus exiges, and a lamborghini gallardo aswell, which are shared with the met, but your soo screwed if you see them lol.

I know this because my friends uncle is a traffic cop, and his dad is a mechanic for them, he is also training the join SO19 (armed responce), saw there van outside my school today

personally, not had much experiance with the police, just those community support officers who come down to the dirt jumps to watch us ride, and chat towards the end of their shift (claim they are looking for stolen bikes, but to be honest, no one there would bother nicking a bike considering most of the bikes we own, we have spent well over £1000 on)

When i do finally get my car up and running and have a liecence, i plan to give them no reason to pull me over, and i will be prepared for anything like blown bulbs, with a full spare kit, and all the tools needed to replace them, which, if posible i would do on the spot.

One question for you guys. Some of you apear to be rather *melonsed* off with being pulled over for little things like blown bulbs.
But how many of you have been sat behind a car with a blown bulb, and been hacked off because you have to pay twice as much attention to when they are breaking or not?

And on the case of bald tyres, would you rather pay £40ish for a new tyre, or spend time in hospital, then wait 6 weeks for the cast to come off, then go though the physio, and then on top of that, have to painstakinly repair your pride and joy to its former glory, taking allot of time, and allot of money, compared to haveing that bald tyre replaced?

lol, I've got two new fronts, the rears are on the edge of legal, its a close call and didnt want the hassle off the police. Its been its first time out the garage in 3 months, I'm about to sell it and I havnt got around to getting the two new back tyres. Sorry if I gave the impression my cars in **** state and dangerous to drive, its not. My bad.

And yes I find a heated discussion with the police about wasting my time quite entertaining. Usually I'm pulled over because I've apparently stolen the car from a Mr Jim Cooper (nice name), and I have no tax or insurance. Of course I'm not Jim, it is taxed and it is insured. Never mind, the cars back in the garage now.

p.s. I also have a blown bulb

they got 230bhp Skoda Octavia VRS round here as unmarked...

Exactly the same here

Last part of the reg is AAE... accident and emergency!

That's the metallic blue one isn't it? I saw it outside cosham police station a few weeks ago! my Audi number plate ends in AAE as well....

Apparently the police force VRS octavias are mapped by REVO from 180 up to 230bhp. Just as well my dailly is running 240bhp I guess!

Gotta keep one step ahead of the game :dontgetit:

I've noticed no end of cars with dodgy headlamps this Winter. Some have a headlamp out, or some have one working normally and the other on side-light only.

Oh and misaligned headlamps on cars heading towards you, so they blind you are not much fun either.

We need more police, on the beat and on the road.

Especially when you're low down in the mini, the headlights only need to be a bit misaligned to give you an eye full.

Hear hear.

True and it's just as bad when their behind you with misaligned lamps.

Our only hopes are they fail on their next MOT.

I'm still trying to get used to the fact that I can't swat the mirror to make the problem go away...!
I presume there *is* a mini sized mirror with a flip built in?
